Good Monday morning.......

well, late morning :D it is 10:42 AM here in sunny Arizona. I just finished another card using the fun stamps from ISC and let me tell you, it was fun. On Saturday I received some happy mail from Joann's (that package took like 3 weeks to get here) but I ordered some more Chalk Box Ink pads. I don't know about you, but I really love this stuff. Betsy from ISC asked me to use certain stamps for my time with her being a guest architect and one of them is a sunflower. Well, as I have said on here before, I am not very good at coloring (Jami, hurry on back, so you can teach me, please!!!!) So, seeing these fun Chalk Box colors (yellows going into the burnt orange shades) I just had to give that sunflower a try. Last year I had ordered some So Saffron from SU and had yet to use it, so, this here is what came out of experimenting with my new and old goodies

Get Well

Recipe:
Paper: PTI white, SU So Saffron
Ink: Chalk Box Yellow Cadnium, Burnt Sienna, Chestnut Brown, Creamy Brown
Stamps:ISC Flair of Summer I for the Sunflower and Get Well
Accessories: Nesties Classic Scallop Circles LG, off white sheer ribbon, handmade stick pin with glass beads, Threading water border punch from Fiskars, dimensinals

To get this effect on the Sunflower I used the Yellow Cadnium chalk ink first than I added a little of the Burnt Sienna but that was way to red (ish) so I added some Chestnut Roan and it was just right. The second layer of the Nesties is PTI white cs but I added lots of the Yellow Cadnium Chalk and Creamy brown! What do you think?

That is all for right now. I have tons of laundry today. Since my hubby retired from the military and is no longer wearing a uniform we go through tons of loads a week, but I am not complaning, it's not going to change anything, I am just being a good wife and wash his clothes, LOL!!!

Thanks friend for stopping by today. For all of you that live in that Blizzard path, I'll send you some sunshine. We are supposed to hit 89 today, only like 2 degrees less than the record high from 1910. Woohoo!!!

Hugs,

Great job coloring. I wish Jami could come and teach me too. I really like all the layering behind the flowers.

So enjoy a couple extra sun rays for me, ok? Love your work!!!
