Good Sunday morning.....

my stamping friends!! A new day, a new Sunday and that means a new challenge over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ and this week it is none other than Grace Nywening, my sweet friend that is hosting. Grace has chosen

Proverbs 10:20-21 "The tongue of the righteous is as choice silver, the heart of the wicked is worth little. The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of understanding."

The challenge is to make a card that encourages and uses a touch of silver

and this is what I came up with!! I needed a card for my baby girl who is turning 6 y.o. on Friday. When she saw this stamp set I am using she wanted me to stamp her off a few so she could color them. Well, I have none to share that she colored...yet, but I have a card that I made using her now favorite color "aqua" have a look

Beautiful Girl

Recipe:

Paper:  PTI Rustic Cream, Poppy Red, Aqua Mist, Basic Grey Hello Luscious

Stamps:  MFT  All dressed up Jolinne

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa

Accessories: Spellbinders Labels 20, crinkled seam binding in Sky Moss, Recollections silver half pearls, silver metallic pen, silver flower charm

I know this is a very simple card compared to all of the "stuff" I always add to my creations, but I kept in mind, that it is after all for a 6 y.o.  She will probably LOVE it for a minute, but toss it as soon as she opens her presents, LOL!!

If you would like to see what the other super talented ladies have come up with make sure you head on over to the SSIC Blog.

This weeks sponsor is "My Favorite Things"  and they are offering a $25 gift certificate!!

Well, this is it for me. Thanks for stopping by and making my day a happy day!!

Have a blessed day!

This is the day.....

that the Lord has made....let us rejoice and be glad in it!!

Hello and happy Sunday my sweet stamping friends! It is time for a new Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge and this week none other than my sweet friend Chris is the hostess!

This is the scripture Chris chose:

Psalm 121:2-4 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. 3 He will not let your foot slip: he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

And the challenge is

Create a card or project with a tea or coffee cup or pot-this can be the designer paper, the image, or embellishment

I have to tell you all, I was searching through all of my Designer Paper and I could not believe that I did NOT have any, not even a one piece of paper with a tea cup or teapot on it. I went to Michael's just to to see if I could find a tea cup charm, but nothing.  But, while standing in line I had to pass the $ bins and EUREKA, there were some items in the bin with tea cups on them. So, to make a long story short, I chose a canvas with a fun little tea cup on it and was a happy camper :D:D

Have a look how I turned a canvas with a tea cup into a fun little gift.

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Ripe Avocado, White

Stamps: ODBD Mini Tags 3

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMagic Spanish Olive

Accessories: Canvas with a tea cup picture on it, Spellbinders Labels 18, FancyTags Two, white cotton crochet lace, Prima Rose, Wild Orchid Crafts roses, leaves cut with my Cricut Expression Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge

Isn't this fun? I just love it and wish I would have gotten a few more.

Anyhow, if you would like to see what the other gals have come up with make sure you'll head on over to

Chris   Grace      Kristine     Rebekka    MariLynn   Miesje   Linda    Lisa  and   Peggysue

you will LOVE each and every one of their creations.

Well, this is it for me for today, had a pretty busy weekend.

Thanks for stopping by today and making my day a brighter day.

Have a blessed Sunday!

Hello and happy Sunday.....

my sweet stamping friends!! Happy Mother's Day to all moms out there, may you be blessed and hopefully spoiled just a little ;D.

It is time for a new Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge and this week it is my turn to host. I was pretty nervous about this, but through prayer of some amazing friends and God's timing, not mine, it all came together.

The first part of this devotional is not by me, but inspired me so much that I wanted to share with you all.

For my scripture of inspiration I chose Ecclesiastes 3:11 a

“God makes all things beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3: 11

“Only five more minutes,” I whispered to my daughter who was giggling with another girl on the playground. The girl she was playing with was a strikingly beautiful child. Long curly hair with fanciful eyelashes and a bright smile!! As the child’s mother approached we began to chat. I told her how beautiful I thought her daughter was. “I wish she thought that about herself” the mother replied as tears streamed down her face. She then began to tell me of how much money she has spent on trying to make her daughter “feel” beautiful. The dresses, shoes, hair accessories, and much more were purchased with an intent to make her daughter feel more beautiful. The Mother explained how her Daddy, friends, and Grandma, continually tried to reaffirm her daughter. She confessed it was all to no avail for in all she tried she felt her daughter did not seem any happier with herself or life. In all she tried to do, she could not convince her daughter of this beauty. The Mother repeated over and over how she felt it was VERY important that her daughter “feel” beautiful. When I asked her why, she paused for what seemed like forever then said, “I don’t know, I guess I want her to have a strong self-esteem and to always know how valued she is.”

With the best of intentions this mother’s concept of self-esteem and value was building insecurity in her daughter. We can never find true beauty in and of ourselves. You see, when our value is measured by outward beauty or by the ability to “Be someone”, we begin to exchange character for the superficial. A child need not know how beautiful they are outwardly to feel valued, rather the beauty our children must find is through the gift of valuing others.

Are you beautiful…do you FEEL beautiful? Have you ever stopped to ask yourself, “Why do we care so much about how beautiful we look?” When what really matters is where I find my beauty. We must remember in Ecclesiastes 3: 11 it says “God makes all things beautiful in its time.” God is the key word, for it is HE that makes beauty possible. In this Scripture this word beautiful is translated as “appropriate.” The next time you look in a mirror or question your beauty, ask yourself this, “Is this appropriate?” If it is NOT an appropriate way to look…if it is NOT something appropriate to say… if it is NOT appropriate to wear…. if it is NOT an appropriate place to be… according to the scriptures it is counterfeit beauty. From such deceptions hide and make the beauty of HIS holiness your portion.

For the beauty of Christ is where we can find true beauty in place of what once may have been ash.

As I was reading this devotional I started thinking on all the things that GOD has created. After all, he has created the heaven and the earth!!

Just the other day my girls and I were in our backyard pulling weeds and cleaning up what the wind had blown into our yard, when all of the sudden my 5 y.o. said: “mommy, mommy, look at this cute birdie!” She was pointing to a tiny bird, just a little bigger than a hummingbird, who was sitting on one of the weeds we were about to pull. It was for sure a beautiful bird and I had never seen one like it before. I turned back to my daughter and told her that GOD makes all things beautiful. My 9 y.o came over and said: “Yeah, just look at all of those beautiful butterflies we saw when went to Butterfly Garden. “

Sometimes I truly wish we all would see things like God has intended for us to see them. God had and has a plan that we focus on him to see all the beauty around us. Yes, we think money can buy beauty and all things beautiful, but we have to realize that GOD already provided it all for us, we just have to put him first and see through his eyes.

I am sorry that I was a little long winded today, just wanted to remind us all, that includes me, to keep our eyes on GOD and not on things. We all are beautiful in our own way. Beauty does not always come in appearance, sometimes the love and heart that people show is more beautiful than anything else and that is what it is all about. GOD had it all planned out!

Here is the card I made using all things beautiful ;D

Recipe:

Paper: DCWV textured cs in white, PTI Ripe Avocado, textured cs in beige, Pink Paislee Buterfly Garden

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black

Accessories: Wilton paper doily, Spellbinders Labels 18, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, Prima Cameo Roses Poppy Field, handmade stick pin, white lace, Dusty Olive seam binding, Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Accents, Recollections butterfly, Studio 112 half pearls

Good Saturday morning.....

my stamping friends!

It has been two weeks since we had a Shining the Light Challenge and let me tell you, I sure did miss you all last week.  For this weeks challenge our fabulous coordinator Chris has come up with one fun challenge.

This weeks challenge:

Embedded embossing

To use embedded embossing, you punch out shapes or cut layers or strips out and then adhere them to your card base piece. Once adhered, place the entire layer in an embossing folder of your choice and emboss both the punched out shapes/layers/strips and the base piece all together. The result looks like seamless embossing … you have just embedded your shapes/layers to the card base.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, May 12. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday. If you are not using ODBD stamps, please do not enter more than once. Additional entries without using ODBD stamps will not be commented on or will they qualify for prizes.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them.As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by May 12 at 8 p.m. EST.If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC59. When creating your posts on blogs please include a direct link to the challenge.

Now, are you ready to see my interpretation?  I started out with some very subtle designer paper by BoBunny called Gabrielle which had some tone on tone butterflies on it, so I thought I'd add some more butterflies in form of the single butterfly stamp by ODBD , which I cut out with the matching custom die . To make them stay where I wanted them I applied some Tombo glue let it dry for a minute and ran it through my Cuttlebug in the Textile embossing folder, Have a look and see for yourself

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate, BoBunny Gabrielle

Stamps: ODBD Single butterflyScripture Series 1

Ink: Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Vintage Photo, SU Close to Cocoa

Accessories: Spellbinders Labels 16 and 18, ODBD Custom Die Single Butterfly, Prima rose, leaves cut with my Cricut Expression and the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge, Studio 112 half earls, Cuttlebug embossing folder Textile, Prima pearl flourish

What do you think? I was trying to make the Labels 16 die cut sort of blend in so I embossed it too and matched the embossing lines and swirls up to the embossed BG.

Do you need some more inspiration to get those creative juices flowing? Well, we have just the thing for you. Check out what

Good Sunday morning.....

my stamping friends!!  It has been a week since I've posted and I have to tell you it was not by choice. My laptop bit the dust and all of my documents and stamping stuff is on it. It does not even stay turned on long enough to boot up :C:C. I was able to get a new laptop for a great price, but my stuff is not on it yet, so until I get figured out if and how I will be able to get my information off of the old one, I am limited on what I can do. I apologize in advance and hope that you will not give up on me!!!

So, I know you all did not come to hear about my problems but to see hat I have come up with for this weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge. This weeks hostess is Marilynn and let me tell you, she has a good one for you all!

This weeks scripture is one of my favorites....Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose

And the challenge is:

No designer paper, Paper must start as a solid color

For my card I used ODBD's Scripture Collection 1 which happened to have Romans 8:28 in it ;D;D

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Kraft, Dark Chocolate

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 1

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Vintage Photo

Accessories: Recollections Butterfly Sprig (which was a gift from my sweet friend Chris....thanks girl!!)
Prima Flower, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, Cuttlebug embossing folder Kassie's Brocade, lace, Spellbinders Labels 5
