Hello and Happy Saturday......

stamping friends!!!! WOW, this week just flew by! Yesterday I received an e-mail newsletter from CPC's (Christian Paper Crafts) and their Fun on Friday challenge caught my eye. See I've had my Nesties for quite some time now and all I have been doing is use them to cut and nothing else. When Cindy was referring to a technique called dry embossing that she saw GinaK. use on her weekly StampTV videos I kind got curious ;D. Well, to make a long story short I went to StampTV watched the video, went back to CPC and read more about the challenge and went straight to town. It was pretty easy to do but I think I'll use another cardboard shim next time to make the embossing pop a little more. Have a look at my CPC FOF#38 challenge

And we know that in all things......

Recipe:
Paper:PTI True Black, SU Sky Blue, Basic Grey Periphery
Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 1 Romans 8:28
Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Faded Jeans
Accessories: Nesties Labels 9, Fleur De Lis Pendant, Dark Blue Dew Drops, Prima Hydrangeas, Prima Heirloom Willow Leaf, Recollections light blue half pearl brad, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, Foam Tape, Tombo Glue
So, what do you think? Does this look cool or what? :D:D.
I love the way this technique frames the scripture even more than just cutting and embossing the Labels 9 die. I think I will use this technique a lot more now...especially since I found out I actually can get some use out of my embossing mat now, where before I never really used it,LOL!!
Well, this is it for me for right now. I have something special up my sleeves,LOL!!! Yep, on Tuesday is my Birthday and a week later is my Blog Anniversary. I suppose you have a feeling what is coming, right? Well, we shall see, so make sure you'll check back... I promise you, you will not be disappointed ;D;D. At least I think you won't,LOL!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today.
Enjoy your weekend and big hugs,

WOW.......

I can't believe it is Wednesday already!!! How are you all doing today? Guess what? I have 2 cards to share with you today. Yep, two and they are CAS ones, hehe!!

For my first card I dug out a Stampin' Up set I bought a couple of years ago called 'Happy Heart Day'. Are you ready?

Love you

Recipe:

Paper: PTI White, DCWV textured red card stock

Stamp: SU 'Happy Heart Day'

Ink: Palette Moulin Rouge

Accessories: Nesties butterflies, white satin ribbon, ZVA crystal flourish, tiny crystals from my stash I still have from Japan ;D, Martha Stewart edger punch lace hearts, foam tape

Well, did I tell you too much, this card being CAS? You know this is the perfect card to make when you are short on time as this one only took like 10 minutes if that.

On to my second card.....CAS as well ;D. For this card I used an even older set I bought when I first started stamping from Close to my heart and it is called 'Moments'..To be honest this was the very first time that I inked these words "love" up as Valentine's Day is right around the corner I thought it was the right one to use, hehe. I also used for the very first time a brand NEW embossing folder that I bought from the Romance Bundle over at HSN, but you know I don't even know the name of the folder :C. When you buy these bundles they come in a box of 3 5x7 and 3 A2 folders but neither of them has a name written anywhere. So, if you happen to know the name of this folder..send me an e-mail (my e-mail addy is in the sidebar under the "not so fun stuff")

LOVE

Recipe:

Paper:PTI White, K&Company Ancestry

Stamp: CTMH Moments

Ink: Chalk Box Rust, VersaFine Onyx Black

Accesories: Nesties scalloped hearts, Cuttlebug embossing folder from the Romance Bundle, antique heart button, Dew Drops from the Sunflower collection, white satin ribbon, Bow Easy

So, what do you think of these two oh, so CAS cards?

Well, this is it for me for today...my little one the 4 y.o. is not feeling so well. She needs some "Mommy Time".

Thanks so much for stopping by today...as always it means a lot to me that you take time to come and visit.

Happy stamping and hugs,

Starting on February 6th I will be officially be part of the ODBD Challenge Team, YEAH!!!!!! See, God is good and I tell ya' if you do what he tells you to do, you will be rewarded. My reward is being on this team and being able to spread the word about his goodness through what I love most......stamping. I am forever grateful for being on a wonderful team of very, and I mean that in every sense of the word, TALENTED ladies that shine every time they pick up ODBD stamps. It is going to be 7 of us, including the Glowbug (as most of you know her) herself, Chris Olsen as Team Leader/Coordinator and these wonderful ladies

Christine Okken - ChristineCreations -

Natalie Dever - Dougnat Diaries -

Francie Gumprecht - Francies Fancy -

Sabrina Jackson - (that's me ;D;D)

Patter Cross - Triple the Scraps -

America Kuhn - Cards by America -

So, starting on February 6, 2010 we will start our first official challenge as a team, which will be called "Shining the Light" .These challenges are weekly and there is lots of fun planned, so be sure to mark your calendar and come back ;D;D.

Today the new team has a lot of fun planned for you with a Blog Hop and Scavenger Hunt!!!!!

You will have the opportunity to meet all of the above named ladies of the team and view their amazing creations and hunt for the item of the scavenger hunt which will be revealed in just a minute!!!

One very blessed hopper who e-mails Chris Olsen all the correct items and places where they found these items will be randomly chosen to win the

stamp set!! Which was the very first stamp set Kelley came out with.

Here is the list of what you need to find on the blogs for the scavenger hunt:

1. red ric rac

2. Psalm 28:7

3. mittens

4. damask

5. palm trees

6. daisies

7. polka dotted tea pot

(please note that all items are on sidebars or heading bars and backgrounds, NOT in the posts themselves!!!!!)

The names of the participating team members are the same as I listed above in the introduction! If you should find missing links, simply check back here for the next person in the list and mention in your comment that you were not able to comment on that person's post. This Hop/Scavenger Hunt is meant to be FUN FOR ALL.... NOT frustration!! It's a game with a chance to win a "Light of the World" stamp set...and we understand if someones blog is "down". Often you can try again later and get on..but if you try and can't leave a comment on someones blog, simply tell us in your end comment who you were not able to get and we will still enter you in the drawing!!

So, all you have to do to be eligible to win is:

1. Complete the hop, leaving comments on EACH blog and return to the ODBD blog and tell us you have visited each blog and left a comment.

2. E-mail Chris Olsen at chrisolsenodbd@aol.com with the names of the items and the blogs you found them at (eg. Kelley - loaf of bread)

3. Do this by Thursday January 28,2010 at 8:00 PM EST.

4. Check back on the ODBD blog on Saturday January 30,2010 to see who the winner is!!

This is my first card, but I have one more for you ;D. Yep, I just could not contain myself, hehe.

My second card is totally different and I had to take two shots of it...one for the outside and one for the inside of the card. Since I could not get myself to cut up this fabulous DP by K&Company called Blue Awning (I bought like 3 12x12 pads of it...shhh... don't tell my DH ;D) I went with a 5.5x5.5 card.

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Good morning......

stamping friends!!! Sorry, I did not post yesterday..things just got in the way, but I have 2 cards to share with you today, how about that? :D:D

Well, to get this post a moving ,here is the first one. Have you seen this amazing DP by Basic Grey called Origins? Oh my goodness, is this paper gorgeous...so perfect for masculine and feminine cards alike. So here is my first card using this yummy paper and the amazing January release set Baptism/Confirmation from ODBD.

One Lord, one Faith.......

Recipe:

Paper: SU Chocolate Chip, PTI Rustic Cream, Basic Grey Origins (available at the ODBD store)

Ink: SU Close to Cocoa

Accessories: Nesties Megabilities curved rectangles, Recollections golden half pearls, EK Success edger punch Scroll, golden cross charm, Cuttlebug embossing folder Victoria, chocolate satin ribbon, foam tape and double sided tape

Where this card is a little more earthy, my next card is totally different and has a very girly feeling to it and yes, I used yet some more Basic Grey DP, you all know that I am huge sucker for Basic Grey...their papers are just awesome (no I am not getting endorsed by them....just LOVE their products:D). For this second card I used the Wisteria pad...I know it has been around for a while, but it has such gorgeous papers, I am still hoarding it, LOL!!!

Have a look at my

Fear not, for I AM WITH YOU....

Recipe:
Paper: PTI White, Basic Grey Wisteria, Textured card stock in a buttercup color

Stamps: Isaiah 41:10 from the Scripture Collection 1 set from ODBD
Ink: SU Bashful Blue

Accessories: Nesties Labels 9, recollections half pearls, Prima E line flowers in white, Prima Heirloom leaves, 3 D glue dot, foam tape, double sided tape
So, what do you think? A little bit of everything, right?

Creating these two cards was absolutely therapy for me as I was able to whip these babies up Friday night, while my DH was in Phoenix attending a special church service with our Pastor and the choir. It felt so good to be stamping..while my girls were stamping with me (for a little while, then I sent them to bed) and waiting up for my husband. God is so good...I tell ya!

Before I go for now I have some exciting new to share with you all that are happening over at ODBD starting at 8 AM on Saturday. Yes, this coming Saturday the 23rd. The brand NEW Challenge Design Team will be introduced and not just that.....you will have the chance to participate in a fun scavenger hunt/ blog hop ...plus, but shhhhhh don't tell anyone YET...there will be a special prize!!! But you'll have to go over to the ODBD Blog on Saturday to find it out more!!!

Only 2 more DAYS!!!!!

All right....I've got you all excited and I showed you 2 cards...I am off for right now. Have a fantastic day...it looks like it is going to rain again here...but that is a good thing, right? The perfect weather to whip up a card or two,LOL!!

Thanks for stopping by...I love it when you come and visit me.

Hello on this beautiful Tuesday.....

my stamping friend!!! As I have promised you I will be sharing a few more cards with you all this week that I made using some amazing sets by ODBD that were released this month. Since I showed off 2 a little more masculine cards yesterday, I am changing gears a little and share some feminine cards with you. You will love, love, love the DP I've used on them. Kelley started carrying some gorgeous S.e.i. papers and they are truly amazing. Have a look at my first card to see for yourself

Whoever Believes

Recipe:

Paper:PTI White, burgundy textured cs (unknown), S.e.i. Juliet flocked/velvety DP, S.e.i. Juliet First Kiss DP

Stamps: Baptism/Confirmation ODBD Mark 16:16

Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Aged Mahogany

Accessories: Nesties Fleur De Lis, Nesties Labels 9, Kaiser half pearls in rose, lots of 3D foam tape

You can not really see it in the photo, but both of the DP's have the same flowers on them so they go really, really well together. The BG DP is the velvet DP and truly feels like fabric and the one under the Fleur De Lis is kind of shiny looking and so gorgeous. As you can imagine it almost hurt to cut this gorgeous paper up ;D;D.

All right, on to # 2 for today for this card I chose some more Juliet DP in shades of rose, white and grey/silver....just like the other day with the simple "God Bless You" card here .

But for this card I brought out some yummy satin ribbon and some glass beads, LOL!!

God's Love

Recipe:
Paper: PTI White, PTI Scarlet Jewel, S.e.i. Juliet DP

Stamp: Confirmation Set ODBD Romans 5:5

Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Aged Mahogany

Accessories: Nesties Labels 9, white satin ribbon, handmade hat pin with glass beads in pink/silver, silver heart charm, frosted Dew Drops, double sided tape, foam tape

What do you think? Totally different from yesterday's cards yet I used the same stamp sets, pretty cool how versatile these sets are. Kelley has outdone herself on this release.

Thanks Kelley, love those sets!!!!

Well, I have a busy day ahead of me, so I'll have to go, but make sure you'll check back later this week for some more eye candy ;D;D.

I will also try to take a picture of some YUMMY Blog Candy that I will be offering as my Blogaversary is approaching fast!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Have a fabulous day.

Happy MLK day .........

my stamping friends. As this is a day a very important male of history is honored, I thought I'd share two masculine cards I made with the ODBD January newly released sets Baptism/Confirmation and Confirmation. I have told you all many times that I have a hard time creating more masculine cards as I love lots of embellishments and flowers and such, but these wonderful stamps sets allow you to focus on the scripture and symbolism more than anything else and I felt that they would work great for something more masculine. Have a look and see for yourself ;D

John 3:5

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Kraft, PTI True Black, DCWV La Creme

Stamps: ODBD Baptism/Confirmation John 3:5

Ink: Kraft, VersaFine Onyx Blak

Accessories: Nesties Large Deckled Rectangles

Kraft hemp cording, silver Ichtus, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool

That is it for number 1 now on to number 2

another simple one but a little more texture as I embossed the BG.

A masculine Cross "God Bless You"

Recipe:

Paper:PTI Vintage Cream, SU Chocolate Chip

Stamps: ODBD Confirmation

Ink: SU Close to Cocoa (for the sponging) and Chalk Box Chestnut Roan (for the stamped images)

Accessories: Cuttlebug embossing folder Forest Branches, Nesties Megabilities Curved Rectangles, antique copper mini brads and eyelet, antique copper Dove

What do you think, do these two cards pass as masculine? As you can see very simple cards but yet the impact they make is remarkable as the scripture of the first one says so much and in the second one the symbolism of the cross is just well, so much said without words!!!

This is it for me for right now, make sure you check back this week as I have a few more creations to share with you ;D.

Thanks for stopping by today. It truly means a lot to me when you come and visit me.

Good Saturday morning....

my stamping friends!! I have a few cards that I made over this past week and I have one today that I'd like to share with you. Kelley, over at ODBD has this fantastic DP by S.e.i. and it is called Juliette, yep, it is an entire series of absolutely yummolicious paper. Since I wanted to focus on the paper for this card I did not add very much else.

See for yourself

God Bless You

Recipe:

Paper: PTI White, unknown textured burgundy cs, S.e.i. Juliette DP and Secret Rendevous available at ODBD

Stamps: Dove and God Bless You from the Confirmation Set

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, Silver Ink by Studio G

Accessories: Nesties Standard Circles Large, pearl Dew Drops

Another pretty simple card...but as I said above I wanted this one to focus on this gorgeous designer paper.

Well, this is it for right now, I have a pretty busy day ahead of me.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Hey and good Friday morning.....

my stamping friend!!! I have a fun little baby card to share with you all today. I have used this gorgeous new stamp set from ODBD called Noah's Ark. Goodness, did I have fun creating this one. I am usually not a bold colors kind of girl but this fun stamp set lead itself to it as I wanted to use some paper that would work for a boy or girl (we have two ladies pregnant at church right now and neither one knows what they are having) so I went for the unisex choice ;D.

I've got to use some of my Copics.....but don't be to hard on me....I am still trying to figure them out and I only have like 40 markers. :D:D

Have a look

Noah's Ark bold and bright

Recipe:

Stamps: ODBD Noah's Ark

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Broken China and Fired Brick

Accessories: Nesties Petite Ovals Large, lime green grosgrain ribbon from my stash, Sakura Glaze Pen (used on the waves) Yellow buttons and Cranberry Dew Drops

What do you think? Does this card work for both a boy or girl? I know it is bright...but seeing most of the new bedding and room decor for kids....they are way past the baby pink and baby blue! ;D

Thank you so very much for stopping by today, you gals always make my day and I love reading about what you think about my humble creations. I read each and every one of your comments...kind of like my daily dose of reading :D:D.

Talk to you all later...have a fabulous day!!!

Hello on this sunny Wednesday afternoon....

my wonderful blogging friends. I have a card for you all that I made for the Mojo Monday #120 challenge. Goodness, I am so far behind with everything, but I promised myself that I will try harder this year to at least participate in some challenges. For this card I used one of the new releases from Our Daily Bread Designs which is called Confirmation. If you have a look at the set itself you will find that you can use it for many more occasions than just Confirmation. See I am German and in Germany, if you are Protestant you go through Confirmation. It was pretty cool as you have to go through 2 years of studying once a week (that's how it was for us where I grew up ;D) so when you graduated from Confirmation class you had a test in front of the entire church and a side effect of it was that you where showered with gifts. :D:D that was the cool part about for me, hehe!!! So,.in Germany we need this stamp set badly :D, but even here I understand some religions have a Confirmation. We are Pentecostal and go to a Church of God in Christ, so we don't have it. But back to my card........I followed this sketch and I used one of my all time favorite Basic Grey paper pads called "Porcelain" Most of the papers are really feminine and go so well together.

Have a look

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Rustic Cream, Basic Grey Porcelain, SU Apricot Appeal

Three blessed hoppers will be chosen randomly to receive One Set of THEIR CHOICE! All you have to do to be eligible to win is complete the hop, leaving comments on each blog, especially mine, since this is my first Hop as part of this amazing team ;D, and returning to the ODBD Blog and leaving your answer to the question there by Monday, Jan. 4 at 8PM EST.

The question will be posted on the ODBD blog, but here's a tip.. as you are hopping along, take note of your favorite set and what you like best about them! Did I mention there will beTHREE WINNERS?!!
