It is Saturday.......

and this means another Shining the Light Challenge over at ODBD and today we are challenging you to create an Easter card or Easter project!!!! Can you believe that next week is Easter already? Goodness, time flies. And as you already know from our previous Shining the Light Challenges we want to make this even more we are giving away a $ 15.00 gift certificate to be used toward stamps from the Our Daily Bread Designs Store!!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, April 1 at 8 p.m. EST!!!! One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday on the ODBD Blog. While not required to use ODBD images and sentiments on your creations, we would LOVE to see them if you have them and for doing so we will recognize 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, you must use ODBD stamps and have your creation added to Mr. Linky by April 1 , 2010, 8 p.m. EST!!!!

If you upload your creation to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword ODBDSLC7 . When creating your posts on blogs, please include a link to the challenge, so we know that we are commenting on the right creation ;D.

So, are you ready for what I came up with? Well I actually have 2 cards to share with you. The second I just had to upload as well, because when I think Easter and Resurrection, I also think pretty bright fun dresses for my 2 girls ;D;D. Somewhat what this card is bright and fun!! But let me show # 1 first.

He has risen.........

Paper:PTI White, Memory Box Frond, Bazzill textured shade of green

Stamps: ODBD Happy Easter

Ink: VersaMark, white embossing powder, Chalk Box Bisque, Watercolor Pencils and my trusty Blender Pen

Accessories: green satin ribbon, Daffodil colored Dew Drops, Tim Holtz distressing tool

You might see it in this photo..the daffodil is layered. I have another side view photo of it...have a look and see. I know this is a pretty simple card, but this is exactly what I was trying to achieve here. Make a CAS card. God does not care if we make elegant and elaborate cards or clean and simple card...there are many ways of glorifying him ;D;D.

Side view of above card!!

All right, on to my second card! This one is very different. A little, yep, a little more work went into this one, but the reason for that is, that I wanted it to look like one of those fun Easter dresses with all kinds of bling and flowers I was going to buy for my girls

Paper:PTI Vintage Cream, K&Company Wild Raspberry, DCWV Mariposa cs pad, SU Certainly Celery

Stamp: ODBD Happy Easter

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black

Accessories: Nesties Labels 9, ZVA Creative Rhinestone flourishes , MayaRoad crystal stick pin with a green oblong glass bead and silver/white mini glass beads, Prima Spring Petal Mix flowers, Spellbinder Cross dies, moss colored sheer ribbon, 3D foam dots, 3D glue dots, Sizzix Damask embossing folder, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Pearl (used on the cross)

Well, this is it for me for right now. I hope that I was able to inspire you a little, but if this is not enough inspiration for ya, check out what my teammates have created. I am still at awe...

Thanks for stopping by today my friends. I am looking forward to hear what you think about my two Easter creations.

Have a fabulous weekend.

Hugs and blessings,

Hi there....

my stamping friends!! I was not going to post today, but I changed my mind when I saw this fabulous BVT47 Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at CPCM I just knew I had to make just one more card with my new Scripture Collection 4 set from ODBD before I put it aside (for maybe 1 day or so ;D;D)

Here is what I came up with

Come to Me.......

Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, True Black, DCWV La Creme

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 4

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Antique Linen

Accessories: Nesties Labels 6, Prima mini roses from the Spring Mix, Basic Grey Opaline pearl flourish, golden cross charm, antique buttons from my stash (I believe I bought those almost 6 years ago at Michael's) black + black/gold satin ribbon, 3D foam dots, 3D glue dots

What do you think? I guess I was in an elegant/feminine mood today :D. This DCWV paper is absolutely is flocked and so gorgeous. This is my second 4x6 pad I bought....that's how much I love this paper :D:D!!

Well, gotta run for today, but make sure you come back tomorrow morning as I will be sharing a new Shining the Light Challenge card with you all.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Hello again.....

wow, this is my second post in one day......I hope I am not boring you! ;D

I had a few minutes this morning and as I was reading my blog list updates, I've noticed that Betty had another SNTODBD6 (Stampinb in Time Challenge) up!! Did you all know that Betty changed the rules a little 2 weeks not a specific stamp set has to be used anymore, but ANY ODBD stamps, YEAH!!!! Anyhow...I've decided that I was going to whip up a card real quick...'cause you know sometimes I need to encourage myself ;D;D.

Some may have noticed that I have created bunches of cards with the new Scripture Collection 3 and 4 that where released during Our Daily Bread Designs Anniversary and I must say...I am TOTALLY addicted to these stamps. There is a scripture for just anything in there. If you have not done so, head on over to the ODBD store and check it out, you will not be disappointed!!

But on to my card. Betty comes up with some pretty amazing challenges and this week she is asking to make a monochromatic card! Well, have a look and see what my interpretation of that is

Monochromatic Mark 11:24

Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, Kraft, K&Company Classic K

Stamp: ODBD Scripture Collection 3

Ink: Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Tea Dye, Antique Linen, Old Paper

Accessories: Nesties Labels 4, Cricut Expression and the Accent Essentials cartridge for the flower (this is the FIRST flower on the keypad overlay in the second row from the bottom ;D) Antique copper cross charm, Chino colored satin ribbon and Kaiser half pearls in Chino, Tim Holtz distressing tool.

So, what do you think? Do you think this works? If you would like to find out more about this wonderful challenge which runs bi-weekly, so you'll have lots of time to create, head on over to the ODBD Blog .

Thanks so much for stopping by. I am always thrilled when you come and visit me. Besides stamping it is my therapy and I enjoy reading your thoughts on my creations.

Have a fantastic day!!

Hello on this Thursday morning.....

my stamping friends!!! Are you ready for some more cards from me? For the last few days I have been showing you some cards I have been working on but had not yet posted. Well, the ones that I am about to show you today are two of those ;D.

These two cards look somewhat similar, as I wanted to make a set to go in a box, but changed my mind :D. You all know what I am talking about, right? You have an idea in your head, but you change last minute and don't go with it at all.

Have a look at my

Be still......

Paper: SU Creamy Caramel, PTI Dark Chocolate, K&Company Roam

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 3 and Iron Works Borders

Ink: SU Creamy Caramel, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Walnut Stain

Accessories: Nesties Labels 1, Sizzix embossing folder Damask, Ginger Dew Drops, cream flower handmade using my Cricut Expression and the Accent Essentials cartridge, antique copper brad, dark brown sheer ribbon, tulle butterfly, foam tape, 3D glue dots

To make the embossed BG stand out a little more I rubbed my sponge with the Distressing Ink over it and it sure enough made the embossing pop :D:D!! I think that this Damask embossing folder works pretty well with the Ironworks stamp set which is part of the Anniversary stamp sets that was just released last week.

All right, that was that and on to my second card

Be strong......

Paper: SU Creamy Caramel, Groovy Guave (ret.) DCWV The Rustic Stack

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 3

Ink: SU Creamy Caramel, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Tea Dye

Accessories: Nesties Labels 1, Toffee colored satin ribbon, Copper Dew Drops, paper flowers from a big bunch I bought at Michael's and simply cut off the long stems ;D;D, EK Success Scroll edger punch, antique brass heart charm and cross charm (you have to look close to see the cross is right n top of the heart, sorry) Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Autumn Leaves, Tim Holtz Distressing tool, foam tape, 3D glue dots, Kaiser half pearls in copper, Maya Road Vintage pearl stick pin and brown glass bead and antique brass spacer bead and stopper.

If you click on the photo you can see the shimmer the DP has. If you have not looked at the DWCV The Rustic Stack...go and check it out. Online does not do any justice. I went to Joanne's a few weeks ago and actually picked it up and fell in love right there in the store....awesome papers, some are shimmery others are not...just the right heavy paper for a Vintage feel. I love it!!

So, what do you think? I am now just waiting for the right occasion to give these cards to a friend or two that needs some encouragement. ;D

Thanks for stopping by certainly made my day!!!

Hugs and blessings,

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Happy Wednesday....

my stamping friends!!! As promised yesterday I will be showing you a few more cards over the next days that I have been working on. Today I have 2 for masculine one and one with one of the new Anniversary Scripture Collection 4!!! If you have not yet seen those 2 new Scripture Collection Sets, you are missing out!!!

All right, let's get started and see what you think about the masculine card

For God so loved the world....

Paper: PTI Kraft, Dark Chocolate

Stamps: ODBD He is Risen

Ink: VersaMark, Chocolate Brown embossing powder, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Tea Dye (for the cross and the sponging of the edges)

Accessories: Nesties Large Deckled Rectangles, Jute Rick-Rack, antique copper hardware, Cuttlebug embossing folder Forest Branches

Yep, it is a pretty plain card but I thought it would be nice to make a card for my Pastor for Easter that does not scream flowers and over the top embellishments,LOL!! What do you think...does it work?

Now on to my second card...this one is more the traditional "Sabrina" card....with the works,LOL!!

Psalm 62:1-2

Paper: PTI White, Dark Chocolate, Memory Box Frond

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 4

Psalm 62:1-2

Ink: SU Chocoloate Chip, SU Mellow Moss

Accessories: Nesties Labels 6, antique brass cross charm, golden cording, Smoke Blue sheer ribbon, EK Success Scroll punch, dark blue Dew Drops, foam tape

I did not add any flowers as this paper is so gorgeous, IMHO, that I did not want to take anything away from it. Wouldn't you agree?

Wow, this was quite the post today, but I hope that I did not bore you too much and that you did find some inspiration.

As always, thank you so very much for taking the time to come and visit me.

I am truly thankful for each and every one of you!!! You my friends make my day very SPECIAL!!!

Hugs and blessings,

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Hello friends.......

on this not so sunny day here in Southern Arizona. Yesterday was a gorgeous day with temps reaching the 80's and today, well, it is all cloudy and not so nice.

All right, I am sure you did not come to see my because I am telling you about the weather, LOL, but to see a card. Well, I have just that.......a card.

About 2 weeks ago or so my neighbor and friend showed me some K&Company acetate overlays she had found at Mike's and I was blown away the way they looked. Anyhow.....the sweet friend she is...she went right back to Mike's while out and about to get me some. Love ya, girl!!

Since they had been sitting on my table ever since, I've decided this morning that it was time to give them a try.

After choosing my paper...some K&Company DP from the Classic K pad which coordinated pretty well with the overlay ;D, I went for it.

Have a look at my Mark 11:24 card

Therefore, I tell you.......

Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, K&Company Classic K, K&Company acetate overlay

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 3

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa

Accessories: Recollections clear rhinestone flourish, red rhinestone crystals, red Prima daisies, cream Prima mini rose, Maya Road Vintage black pearl pin which I colored red with a Copic marker ;D
Tim Holtz distressing toll

Wow, I tell you, the hardest part was to take a photo that did not show any glare. The scripture is stamped on the paper directly and not on the acetate. I think I like the outcome :D.

What do you think?

Well, I have a ton more cards to share....I am kind of in a creative mood right now, but I will spread them out a bit so you won't get too tired of me,LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you'll have a creative day.

Hugs and blessings,

It is Saturday and time for.....

another ODBD Shining the Light Challenge. Can you believe we are already at challenge # 6? WOW, time sure flies when you are having fun!!! This week we were challenged by our awesome team leader Chris to think Spring and New Life. Since today is the first day of Spring, create something for Spring using Spring colors and images portraying New Life. Don't you just think that this is perfect for an Easter Creation being that we are 'New Creatures in Christ' !!!! I have tried to incorporate both....Spring colors and a scripture to say just that...being a new creature as this wonderful scripture Galatians 2:20 explains.

"I have been crucified with Christ,

I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.

The life I live in the body,

I live by Faith in the Son of God,

who loved me and gave himself for me."

Have a look at my creation

New Life

Paper:PTI White, DCWV textured pink, K&Company Wild Raspberry

Stamps: ODBD He is Risen

Ink: Palette Moulin Rouge, Chalk Ink in pink

Nesties Labels 5, Spellbinders Cross Dies, pink half pearls (from my stash ;D), Recollections silver half pearl brad, pink sheer ribbon (from my stash from Japan), Prima dark pink Daisy, cs confetti from Mike's Bridal Section, foam tape, 3 D glue dot

Well, what do you think, does this look like Spring and New Life?

If you need a little more inspiration head on over to my teammates

as they sure have come up with some super projects.

As in the past weeks of our Shining the Light Challenge you have until Thursday, which is March 25th, 2010 to upload your creation to the ODBD Blog to Mr. Linky leaving a link to your blog, if you upload your creation to another online gallery like SCS please use the keyword ODBDSLC6
so we will be able to identify your card or project for this challenge. Even though it is not a requirement to use ODBD stamps and images, we highly encourage you to do so if you have them. And if you do use your ODBD stamps and you upload to Mr. Linky by Thursday, March 25th, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. EST you will have the chance of being chosen to receive the Shining the Light Challenge Award, but this is only if you use ODBD stamps ;D;D;D.

All participants have a chance of being chosen by random to win a $ 15.00 gift certificate going toward a stamp purchase at the ODBD store and will be announced next Saturday.

So, get out you stamps and get creating. I am looking forward seeing each and every one of your entries.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Hugs and blessings,

It is this time of the month again.........

release day at Innovative Stamp Creations and let me tell you...this release as many in the past is truly unique!!! Why, you wonder? Well, let's start with Friends Are Special , do you have one or a handful of important people in your life whom you are grateful for, for their unwavering support? Then wait till you see this stamp line....

Betsy, has challenged us to alter an item of choice as a gift for this special person in our life and this is what I came up with

Paper: DCWV Mariposa

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Stamps: ISC Friends Are Special

Accessories: $ 2.00 frame from Family Dollar (I removed the glass so I could add dimension ;D) Spellbinders Large Scalloped Oval Small, Fancy Tags dies,Prima flower, Recollections pearl brad, Kaiser half pearls in black, Recollections golden half pearls, EK Success Fleur De Lis punch, 3 D glue dots, foam tape

I was trying to get a decent picture of this frame but it just did not work. The "sweet friend" tag I made is not on there's the way I took the picture :D:D. The frame actually has sort of a lip there and the tag fits right in.

Now on to, Destination, with Spring literally around the corner, are you planning a vacation? Here is what I came up with. It is an A2 card and has somewhat of a masculine feel to it.

Paper: PTI Dark Chocolate, Rustic Cream, Kraft

Ink:Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye, Vintage Photo

Stamps: ISC Destination , Time (suitcase, Travel Memories

Accessories: Circle punch, Nesties Ribbon Tags , EK Success Photo corner punch, Jute ribbon, cording, foam tape, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool

And the last line of this release, Time truly compliments not just Destination, which I incorporated ;D, but also images from past releases like Journey of Discovery or Men of Wisdom or even Birch Tree Painting imagine the endless creations you can come up with!!

Here is a look at my very masculine take

Paper: PTI Rustic Cream, SU Not Quite Navy, recycled cardboard ;D

Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Faded Jeans, Memento Tuxedo Black

Stamps: ISC Time

Assorted buttons, Twine, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, Cuttlebug embossing folder Diamond Plate
foam tape, glue dots, brad, photo dial

Well these are my creations for this month. I am sorry my post is up late today, but Blogger decided not to publish my scheduled post. It just disappeared so I had to start all over again.
I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you and I apologize sincerely!!!

Now if you want to see some more awesome creations head on over to my teammates

and see what they have come up with.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Be creative, have fun!

Friday, March 12, 2010

Good afternoon....

stamping friends!!! Hope you all had a wonderful and creative week. I had a lot of running around to do and had another migraine attack...hate those!! I usually don't talk about private stuff, but yesterday I found out, after visiting the dentist, that my oldest, the 8 y.o., has perfect teeth but has 3 or more extra teeth that are blocking one of her permanent teeth to come through. So, my baby needs surgery or she won't get that front tooth ever :C:C. If you could, would you please say a prayer that it won't be too bad as she is terrified. Thanks!!!

So, that was that ;D.
As I was going through my daily dose of blog land I saw Betty Wright had her new challenge up on the ODBD Blog SNTODBD5 and I just had to play, hehe!!

I only played a few time but did not play for the last 2 or 3 times as I did not have the required stamps, but this time I can, and guess what, so can you, as Betty has changed the rules a little ;D. You still schould use ODBD stamps but you don't have to have a particular one, any, yes ANY ODBD stamp can be used from now on, how cool is that? Well, I love it and I am trying to play every two weeks with Betty. There is only one requirement this time and that is to use something NEW!! This is not hard for me as I just last week bought some yummy paper and a new MS punch ;D;D.

Have a look and see for yourself

SNTODBD5 Thinking of You

this is the outside,

What do you think? For the NEW things I've used in this project, well, the DP is new and is from DCWV called The Rustic Stack, can I say that I absolutely LOVE it and I can't believe I did not buy it sooner, the MS Monarch butterfly punch is new, and that yummolicious May Arts ribbon, so is that little tulle butterfly which I was able to score at a recent Scrapbooking and Stamping Convention in town ;D. And not just that, I finally got to meet the ever so talented and totally sweet Connie McCotter. :D:D

This is it for me for right now. Make sure you'll come back tomorrow as the Shining the Light Challenge Team is kicking off the ever so AWESOME Anniversary Celebration that is taking place for the next 5 days over at Our Daily Bread Designs!!!! Thursday, March 4, 2010

Hi all.....

on this wonderful sunny day here in Southern Arizona!!! The other day, well, Tuesday ;D, I needed some "Therapy" and let me tell you, it was good to get my fingers a little inky and after I was done with my card I was feeling much better....keep on telling my DH that stamping is cheaper than Therapy,LOL!!

Most of you that come to visit me on a regular basis know I am sort of addicted to 5.5x5.5" cards...if I make that size card I don't have to cut too much off of my 6x6" Basic Grey paper pads and this card I am getting ready to share with you is no different. So, this is what I did

He who has the Son

Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, PTI Plum Pudding, Basic Grey Wisteria

Ink: SU Perfect Plum

Stamp: ODBD The Lord has Risen

Accessories: MayaRoad sheer ribbon, Nesties Labels 11, MayaRoad Vintage Pearl Pin to which I added a silver bead and a silver spacer, Recollections silver half pearls, Studio18 purple Rhinestones

What do you think? I was so glad the the sun was shining that day as whenever I try to take a photo of anything purple it does not look like it is purple when I take the photo inside...outside it is a total different story and looks so much better. Maybe I just need to tell my DH that I need a better camera ;D. Well, this is it for me for right now...make sure you come back to visit me on Saturday as the ODBD Challenge Team as another awesome challenge for you!!!

Thanks for stopping by today and making my day a happy day.
