Happy Wednesday......

my stamping friends!!  I have a card to share with you all that I've made using two of Our Daily Bread Designs July releases.  For this one, I kind of went outside the box a little and stamped on fabric, Crinoline to be exact and it turned out wonderful.

Why don't you sit back for a minute and check it out and let me know what you think.

Thankful

Recipe:

Paper:  PTI Dark Chocolate, White, Prima Melody

Stamps: ODBD Large Scrapbook Words, Sweet William small

Ink: PTi Perfect Match Vintage Cream, Memento Rose Bud (flower)

Accessories: Wilton Doily, Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two, Blossom Three, Zva Creative pearl flourish, Glimmer Mist in Pink Taffy, Sizzix Embossing Folder Damask, . Recollections half pearls, rhinestone brad

I have to tell you, I loved the way the Memento Ink just so beautifully stamped the Sweet William unto the Crinoline. To achieve the bleeding on the edges of the petals I spritzed the Glimmer Mist in Pink Taffy unto a piece of acetate and just dipped the edges of the flower into it and dried it with my heat gun making sure that I did not overheat the fabric (we all know what happens when you do that ;D;D).   To give the flower a little more life I simply snipped in where the petals meet and viola, this fun Sweet William cam to life.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and visiting.

I hope all of you are enjoying a blessed day!

Hugs,

You are not forgotten!!

Hello my stamping friends! Hope you all are doing well on this super sunny and hot Thursday! I have a card to share with you all today that I've made using two of the new releases from Our Daily Bread Designs, called "Not Forgotten"  and  "Old Flag BG".  The "Old Flag BG" was directly stamped unto some designer paper I had for a long time (sorry don't recall the name). For the soldier image I used Palette Moulin Rouge and aged it with Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in Tea Dye. The words "you are not forgotten" were stamped in ODBD's Steel Blue. Have a look at my

You are not forgotten

Recipe:

Paper: SU Buckaroo Blue ( I believe it is retired), PTI Rustic Cream, textured blue cs from my stash (can't quite recall the name, sorry) Bless America themed paper from my stash

Stamps: ODBD Old Flag BG, Not Forgotten

Ink: ODBD Steel Blue, Palette Moulin Rouge, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Tea Dye

Accessories: Spellbinders Petite Ovals Large, Labels 21, red/white/blue grosgrain ribbon, SU star brads

What do you think? Pretty simple card, but I wanted to keep the importance of the Old Flag and this wonderful image of a soldier leaving for deployment. I think in this case less is more!

Well, this is it for me for today!  I am taking my girls out for a little while. This is there last week of summer vacation. Tomorrow we have meet the teacher. My girls are not quite ready to go back to school, but they've gotta do what they've gotta do, right? ;D

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hugs and blessings,

SSIC97...What works for you

Hello and good morning my sweet stamping friends! It is time for  new Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge and this week it is the ever so talented and super sweet Rebekka Reed that is challenging us. For her scripture Rebekka chose

James 2:18,19 But someone will say, You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe and tremble

and the challenge is:

"What works for you" use your favorite item for stamping, it could be a stamp, embossing folder, favorite spellbinder shape

To be honest, I have so any favorites that I had to narrow it down just a bit. ;D  So, for my card I went with some yummy paper, Spellbinders off course, no card is complete without Spellbinders ;D;D and a flower, lace and some pearls and this is what came out

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, True Black, Recollections Designer Paper

Stamps: ODBD Mini Tags 1

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black

Accessories: Spellbinders Labels 20, Fancy Tags Two, Recollections half pearls, Zva Creative pearl flourish, white and black lace from my stash, Prima flower

What do you think? It's a pretty easy challenge and I ope that you all get to play along. If you should need some inspiration, make sure you'll head on over to see what

Chris, Grace, Kris, Linda, Marilynn, Miesje, Peggysue and Rebekka have come up with.

To find out all of the detail make sure you'll stop by the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Blog.

Hello and good morning my stamping friends!! It is Saturday and time for a new Shining the Light Challenge over at Our Daily Bread Designs. Chris, the wonderful Challenge Team Coordinator is challenging us this week to focus on the colors "red, white and blue"!! You can use other colors but those three need to be the main focus. I know I am not officially a member of the Challenge Team anymore, but I can't get enough of these awesome challenges I asked permission to keep participating as a regular so to speak, so all of you will have just that one more inspiration card, LOL!

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, July 14. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday. If you are not using ODBD stamps, please do not enter more than once. Additional entries without using ODBD stamps will not be commented on or will they qualify for prizes.

For my sample this week I've used a set just released last week called "Sweet William small", the small stands for regular size words actually as there is also a set that focuses more on Scrapbooking and those blooms  are larger. Anyhow, have a look and see how I have tied the Sweet William flower into the red, white and blue challenge

It's a new day....

Hello my stamping friends!!  I am back from vacation and I am trying to get back into the swing of things.  :D
So, to start this new day out right, I have a card I would like to share with you all that I've made with one of the newly released stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs last week called "Not Forgotten". I know the image of the soldier is supposed to be a male, but I thought that I could easily make this into a little more feminine looking card as well. See, my husband was active duty Air Force for 26 years and I have seen more than one soldier (male and female) leaving for deployment or TDY or training and from the back some females even look like men, no offense. The uniform/BDU's do not distinguish between male and female, it's one for all. To make a long story short, I have made a pretty girlie card to honor a lady that recently joined our church, she is in the Air Force as well.

Have a look and if you have some time I'd like to know what you think about my card honoring one of the brave women defending our freedom. She is not deployed right now, but she had been last year.

Fight the good fight...

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Rustic Cream, Dark Chocolate, Recollections Kraft, Basic Grey Nook&Pantry

Stamps: ODBD Not Forgotten

Ink: SU Close to Cocoa (Image) , Memento Rich Cocoa (scripture)

Accessories: Offray cream cotton lace, May Arts ribbon, handmade flower, Recollections half pearls, Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large, Labels 20, Standard Circles Large, Parisian Accents,

All right, so, what do you think? I think it works pretty well for a female.

I am sure that I will be using this set over and over again, and it does not have to be for a holiday, I can now make a card that honors one of these brave military members, active duty, retired it is just a perfect addition, wouldn't you agree?

Well, this is it for me for today! Thanks so much for stopping by and making my day a happy day!

Have a blessed and super creative day!

Welcome to ODBD's July release....

Good morning stamping friends!! I hope you all are doing well and are ready for a  new release of some super cool stamps over at Our Daily Bread Designs! This post is scheduled as I am on vacation with my family, so if you have any problems with my links, please make sure you will go to the ODBD Blog and click on the link of the person after me, which is Julie. I will be back home on Friday night and will update all links to direct links!!! If you have arrived here from Lisa's fantabulous blog you are in the right place, if you just started here, you might want to head on back to the ODBD Blog to start there as we not only have some awesome projects to share with you all, but we also have some cool goodies to give away. But first, let me tell you that I am super excited that starting today I am officially a member of the Design Team! I know, there is not much difference between the Challenge Team and the Design Team, but I am forever grateful to Kelley, that she allowed me to be part of this ever so fabulous group of stamping and creating sisters!! Thanks, Kelley!!! All right, let me show you my humble little card I made. When I was growing up in Germany, we had one giant Hydrangea bush and it was kind of lavender/pinkish and I took it as my inspiration today. So let me introduce you to one of the awesome new stamp sets called "Hydrangea" and one that is called "Large Scrapbook Words".

So Blessed......

Recipe:

Paper: PTI White, SU Pale Plum, Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden

Stamps: ODBD Hydrangea and Large Scrapbook Words

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa

Accessories: Spellbinders Classic Circles Large, Fancy Tags 2, Labels 10, Wilton Paper doily, Zva Creative Corner Pearl Flourish, lavender Marcella K rhinestones, white lace from my stash, Copics V01, V04, RV00, G 82, G 9, BG 93

What do you think? Isn't this an awesome Hydrangea image and amazing "big" words? I love that I can either use these words for Scrapbooking or my cards. You know sometimes you want to make a statement and these words are perfect for that.

To send you on in the Hop I am sending you over to see what Julie has created. Make sure you'll leave love at all the designers blogs. There are some prizes to be won, but we are not having you to answer any hard questions ;D. We just want you to have fun and complete the Hop and let all of us know what you like about our projects and then on the ODBD you simple state that you have completed the Blog Hop and that will automatically qualify you for the random drawing of  one of THREE free sets or the Grand Prize, which is nothing other than the entire Bread Basket Bundle. So make sure you complete the Hop sweet friends. The Hop runs from 8 AM EST, today, 1. July until 8 PM EST on Saturday 2. July.
