SNTODBD48...

Hello and happy Thursday my stamping friends. Today I have a special post for you all, I've played along in Betty's Stamping in Time Challenge over at Our Daily Bread Designs where the challenge this rotation is

The challenge this rotation is to create Christmas cards, gift packaging, gift ideas or anything festive you can think of to share with a Christmas theme!

So, for my project I came up with a card and ornament. The ornament was a ton of fun creating as I have tried my hands on some pretty cool stuff called Model Magic by Crayola. It is a very soft and lightweight clay. I simply took a chunk out of the package started mushing (is that even a real word? :D:D) rolled it out on my craft mat to about 1/4" thickness and used one of the new Spellbinders 2011 Heirloom Ornament dies as a guide by laying in on top of the clay and using a small kitchen knife to cut around it. After I cut it I smoothed out the edges a bit.  For my image I chose the snowflake tree and flourishes from ODBD's Ornaments 2 which I inked with ODBD's Steel Blue ink (no longer available) but you can use any ink. I only pressed the stamp in a little to so the impression would not be too deep. I let the ink try for a minute and added some glue with my glue pen in the middle of each snowflake and dusted some Glimmer Dust by DecoArt over it. I forgot to mention that the clay is 'air dry" clay and it takes quite a while to dry, but it is so worth it!! ;D I also added the Glimmer Dust to the edge of the entire ornament. To finish it off I added some light blue sheer ribbon and a rhinestone, viola your little ornament gift is ready.  For my card I stayed
along the same lines, but have a look and see for yourself

Peace on Earth

Sorry about the shadow in the picture, but the sun as giving me a hard time ;D

Recipe:

Paper:

PTI White, light blue textured cs, Designer Paper is from my stash (sorry no cover, so I don't know the name of it)
