Welcome to our first Shining the Light challenge.......

for the New Year!!!! Hello stamping friends, today is the first challenge for the year at Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light challenge. If you missed our last winner's post, you may not know that we have two new players. The ever so talented and sweet Silke Ledlow is back as a challenge team member for Our Daily Bread Designs!! Welcome back Silke!! And can I just say, I am very happy that I am not the only alien here anymore, hehe!!  For those of you that don't know yet, Silke and I are both German and it is kind of fun having someone other than my family back home to talk German to. ;D;D
But back to business, we are doubly blessed since the ever so sweet and inspiring Pat Smethers will be joining us as a guest for the next two months. Welcome aboard Pat!! We are so excited to have them join us!!!!

This week's Challenge:

A new year has begun and an old year has ended....use something new and something old from your stash.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize , a $ 15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, January 13. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday. If you are not using ODBD stamps, please do not submit more than once. Additional entries without using ODBD stamps will not qualify for comments or prizes.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them. As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by January 13 at 8 p.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC43. When creating your posts on blogs please include a direct link to the challenge.

All right, let me tell you real quick what my old is, I've had these MayaRoad chipboard flourishes for ages and very seldom use them and for my new, I am using some Prima DP called Fairy Flora, which I just got last week.

And here is my creation

Yesterday is gone.........

Recipe:
Paper: PTI Rustic Cream, Dark Chocolate, Lemon Tart, Berry Sorbet
           Prima Fairy Flora

Stamp: ODBD Let us Begin

Ink: Studio G Bark Pigment Ink

Accessories: Spellbinders Lotus Pendant, Nesties Labels 3, Recollections golden half pearls, MayaRoad chipboard flourishes, Glimmer Mist Autumn Leaves, Prima flowers, handmade flower, paper roses (Nont Prima)

On my card today I opted out not to use ribbon as I wanted to really show off this fabulous paper ;D

What do you think, are you inspired to play along in this fun challenge or do you need a little more inspiration?

I tell you, you probably want to get a cup of coffee or tea and sit back and enjoy what my fellow teammates have created.  Have a look and see what

Chris

Fran

Pat

and Silke

have come up with!!!

I hope you all get to play along and show off those ODBD stamps that you have. We always love coming by to see what you  have created!!! If you would like to see what else is going on at ODBD head on over to the ODBD Blog to read all about all of our other challenge.

Well, this is it for me for today. We are having a Fellowship Dinner at church tomorrow after service and I need to make a couple of Pound Cakes and Baked Beans.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Have a blessed and very creative day!!

Hugs,
