Happy New Year......

my stamping friends!!! I hope that you all started your New Year out well! You might be surprised that I am posting on Tuesday, but I have some very special reason to do so. As you might have read on the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog  there is now a Scrapbook Team!!! Yep, Kelley, the wonderful owner of ODBD is reaching out to all of the scrappers out there and the people that would like to be scrappers, like ME!!! ;D. Kelley, chose Patter Cross and Chrissy Dickinson to be on this team, so they left the Shining the Light Challenge Team and now are part of the "Let your Light Shine" Scrapbook Team. I am still part of the Shining the Light Challenge Team, but when I saw the Scrapbook Teams first sketch, I just wanted to try it out, so today my friends, you will see yours truly very FIRST real scrapbook page. I have only made one page before, but it did not include a picture, it was just more of a experiment if you will ;DD. In other words, it was bad!!!

So, after I read the requirements I just went for it and I must say, it was really FUN!! Here are some more details for this new challenge

"Each challenge will run for the entire month, and we will display new pages from Patter and Chrissy, and/or the Breadsticks every Tuesday!!! How is that for inspiration? We will also try to add tips along the way. Okay, so are you ready for your first challenge? We have decided on a sketch challenge to help ease you into your first page.

Here is the sketch

and here is what I came up with

Sisters

Recipe:  DCWV Mariposa Designer Pad and card stock pad, PTI Vintage Cream

Stamps; ODBD  Scripture Collection 1, Fleur De Lis Borders

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Tea Dye, Shabby Shutters

Accessories: Cricut Expressing, Cricut cartridge  Paper Lace (butterfly cut at 2"), Lyrical Letters (sisters cut at 3/4"), Accent Essentials (leaves), Spellbinders Peony die for the flower, Nestabilities Labels 14, half pearls, cream cotton crochet lace, ZVA Creative flourish, Glimmer Mist Iridescent Gold

So, what do you think about my FIRST real page?  I think I will try to play in this fun new challenge more often!!! ;D;D

If you want to play here are some guidelines (this is copied from the ODBD Blog

**You must use ODBD stamps on a scrapbook page of any size!
**Other stamps allowed, but ODBD images need to be the focus!
**Use Keywords ODBDLYLS1 and ODBD when linking to SCS or other public galleries.
**The same keywords will be used for this entire month of January!
**To be eligible for the $25 gift certificate, leave a link to your creation here using Inlinkz.
**All entries for the entire month must be linked to this first post of the month using Inlinkz.

The challenge runs from today, Tuesday, 4. Januar 2011 through Monday, January 31st, at 6 pm EST. You have all month to enter. You can enter as many times as you like, just remember to link your creations to this post. We will select a winner from ALL of the January scrapbook challenges for a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store!

Does that sound like fun or what? I am sure glad I gave this challenge a try it was actually awesome to step outside of my comfort zone!!

Make sure that you stop over at Patter's Blog, she is this weeks host and made an awesome page!!

Dear Sabrina, In the past year I've been reading Patter's blog & past articles, and through it have visited your blog to see your beautiful work. I scrapbook and make cards sometimes, and have enjoyed your expressiveness very much. Thank you for letting us see your darling girls and the way you framed them in this layout. Beautiful! You will enjoy scrapbooking with photos, I'll bet! --Jennifer in Ohio

Sabrina~ Your girls are beautiful! I do not (yet) scrapbook and am new to blogging. You are such an inspiration to me! I love that you have framed your girls in God's Word- so meaningful! The butterflies and bling seem to sing together and give great movement to your page. What a treasure this will be for them. Thanks so much for sharing, and planting seeds! Hugs....

Hi Sabrina! I was so excited to see your page at ODBD Blog, in the new challenge. Great job with it and it's only your second? Your girls are beautiful, (they don't look a lot alike which is nice, individuals). Thank you for the nice comment on my family photo.

Sabrina,
Your card is awesome! Plus I like the fact that you have used your Cricut carts on the page. I would like to see more designers us the cricut carts in their creations. It would be another avenue for the use of the carts.
