Oh where oh where has......

Sabrina been? Well, to share a little with you what has been happening....first about two weeks ago I had these terrible migraine headaches I told you all about and then my entire family got bitten by whatever is going around (NOT that bad, bad flu bug thank GOD) but whatever it was/is, it still has my little one down and she is pretty cranky to say the least :D. Anyhow I am trying to catch up with getting back into things. Friday night I made some yummy, really yummy Zucchini Bread and almost cut my finger off, yep, my Mom sent me a brand new grater, one of those fancy ones and I was going a bit too fast and cut part of my thumb off (well, a little ;D) and it is not letting me function like I would like to. I tell you, it is pretty amazing how much you need your thumb. I am without bandages and such since this morning but it hurts like crazy. I made 2 cards earlier, some quick ones, which seems to be the only kind I have been making lately, LOL. The first one is a card I made for the Divine Design Bible Verde Challenge over at SCS. It has been great fun to create a card or other project throughout the year, only one more month left but those cards have been coming in handy when you need a quick card to encourage someone with scripture. If you would like to find out more about this fantastic challenge click here to find out more. I sure hope these ladies will continue this challenge next year.

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Kraft, Moss recycled card stock, CraftySecrets Earth pad

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 1 ( Lamentations 3:21-23)

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, Chalk Box Prussian Blues, Chalk Box Toffee

Accessories: Nesties Labels1, Recollections golden half pearls, Prima Fairy Tale Collection mini roses, Cricut Expression flourish heart from the Accent Essentials cartridge, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, Foam Tape

I was having some trouble taking this photo...for some reason the colors are not true. The green is much more muted IRL and the DP is very soft as well.

Here is another shot, this time from the inside of the card

For my second card I have for you all today, I used one of my brand new embossing folders I received last week from HSN. I have no idea what the name of the folder is though. That is the thing when you order specials like that, they don't come in the wrapper that tell you what it is :C.

Anyhow, the folder is gorgeous. The card is very non-traditional as far as the colors go. I was surfing the blogging world a while back and saw this color combo and loved it. I am sorry, but I can't remember who's blog I visited :C.

So here is my chocolate white Christmas card

Recipe:
Paper: PTI white, SUY Chocolate Chip

Stamps: Inkadinkado Reindeer, ISC Festive Season

Ink: SU Close to Cocoa

Accessories: Nesties scalloped ovals large, Cuttlebug embossing folder Christmas 2009-2010 from HSN, pearl Dew Drops, foam tape, 3D foam dots

So, what do you think?

I think that I will be making a few of these as they will not require extra postage ;D.

Well, this is it for me for right now. Thank you so very much for stopping by. I truly enjoy reading your comments.

Hugs,

My daughter had a similar incident with one of those graters. Makes me shiver just thinking about it. I am so glad I found your blog. I have subscribed so I can get updates. You have wonderful works of art here. :)

Well join the finger cutting club. I filleted mine while cutting bread at my DS's house. They won't let me cut again. ;)
Your card is beautiful.

Oh Sabrina I am so sorry about your migraines (I have them too) not fun. Your DD being sick is not fun either and then to cut your thumb...that can be one of the worst cuts!! I remember way back when I cut my knuckles on a grater and it took forever to heal...as for your cards!!! Beautiful...wish I had seen that HSN show...I love CB!! Take Better Care and get well to you and all of your family!!!

Ouch! I try to stay out of the kitchen as much as possible, for the very same reason-always trying to cut cut or burn myself! Why is it colors just don't photograph right sometimes? A lovely card though. The white chocolate is yummy-beautiful! Hope everyone is better soon, missed you! : ]

Oh my, Sabrina...both cards are just stunning!! Love the wonderful colors on the first, and the clean look to the second...you know I love flourishes!!

I am soooo sorry about your thumb!! Been there done that...Just this past September, I tried to cut off my thumb with a fancy pineapple cutter right before my DD's b-day party...the silly thing blead for three hours!! Please take care of yourself!!

Beautiful, beautiful creations Sabrina! I am so sorry you've dealt with so much "stuff" lately! Migraines stink and well, shaving off a part of your thumb isn't fun either! Hope you heal soon! Meantime, your cards are just gorgeous!!

Hi Sabrina. I love both of your cards. They came out beautiful. I am a bit more partial to your chocolate and white Christmas card. It is so very pretty.

I can't believe that I missed the HSN special!!! I love the embossing folder that you used and purchased from them.

I am so sorry to hear that you lost a bit of your thumb. It really hurts getting a deep cut. I hope that you are healing more and more each day. I hope your little girl is feeling better too.

Oh my Sabrina! I'm praying that you and your little family are on the mend. When I read your grater story, it made me wince. Ouch! Brought back memories of when I thought the blender had stopped, stuck my finger in there to get something unstuck and yep, the blades were still turning...still get sick to my stomach thinking about it.

Your cards are gorgeous, as usual. I especially love the reindeer..the embossing is just beautiful! Blessings!!

Sabrina, your cards are just beautiful! Both have such wonderful color and accent! But I have to say, the chocolate one with the embossing is really a favorite! Bless your heart! You have had a rough month! And your poor thumb...I can't even imagine trying to function with that! Prayers for healing for you and your family. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such nice comments. I just love it when friends drop by! Blessings to you!

Oh, you've had quite a time of it! I've heard you mention those migranes quite some time back already and so sorry to hear about your thumb -- oh boy, when it rains it pours!!! But your cards are lovely today and I'm glad you are back up and in the saddle. Hang in there!!!
