It is Saturday.......

and this means another Shining the Light Challenge over at ODBD and today we are challenging you to create an Easter card or Easter project!!!! Can you believe that next week is Easter already? Goodness, time flies. And as you already know from our previous Shining the Light Challenges we want to make this even more fun...so we are giving away a $ 15.00 gift certificate to be used toward stamps from the Our Daily Bread Designs Store!!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, April 1 at 8 p.m. EST!!!! One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday on the ODBD Blog. While not required to use ODBD images and sentiments on your creations, we would LOVE to see them if you have them and for doing so we will recognize 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, you must use ODBD stamps and have your creation added to Mr. Linky by April 1 , 2010, 8 p.m. EST!!!!

If you upload your creation to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword ODBDSLC7 . When creating your posts on blogs, please include a link to the challenge, so we know that we are commenting on the right creation ;D.

So, are you ready for what I came up with? Well I actually have 2 cards to share with you. The second I just had to upload as well, because when I think Easter and Resurrection, I also think pretty bright fun dresses for my 2 girls ;D;D. Somewhat what this card is bright and fun!! But let me show # 1 first.

He has risen.........

Recipe:

Paper:PTI White, Memory Box Frond, Bazzill textured shade of green

Stamps: ODBD Happy Easter

Ink: VersaMark, white embossing powder, Chalk Box Bisque, Watercolor Pencils and my trusty Blender Pen

Accessories: green satin ribbon, Daffodil colored Dew Drops, Tim Holtz distressing tool

You might see it in this photo..the daffodil is layered. I have another side view photo of it...have a look and see. I know this is a pretty simple card, but this is exactly what I was trying to achieve here. Make a CAS card. God does not care if we make elegant and elaborate cards or clean and simple card...there are many ways of glorifying him ;D;D.

Side view of above card!!

All right, on to my second card! This one is very different. A little, yep, a little more work went into this one, but the reason for that is, that I wanted it to look like one of those fun Easter dresses with all kinds of bling and flowers I was going to buy for my girls

Blessings.......

Recipe:

Paper:PTI Vintage Cream, K&Company Wild Raspberry, DCWV Mariposa cs pad, SU Certainly Celery

Hi there....

my stamping friends!! I was not going to post today, but I changed my mind when I saw this fabulous BVT47 Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at CPCM I just knew I had to make just one more card with my new Scripture Collection 4 set from ODBD before I put it aside (for maybe 1 day or so ;D;D)

Here is what I came up with

Come to Me.......

Recipe:
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, True Black, DCWV La Creme

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 4

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Antique Linen

Accessories: Nesties Labels 6, Prima mini roses from the Spring Mix, Basic Grey Opaline pearl flourish, golden cross charm, antique buttons from my stash (I believe I bought those almost 6 years ago at Michael's) black + black/gold satin ribbon, 3D foam dots, 3D glue dots

What do you think? I guess I was in an elegant/feminine mood today :D. This DCWV paper is absolutely amazing...it is flocked and so gorgeous. This is my second 4x6 pad I bought....that's how much I love this paper :D:D!!

Well, gotta run for today, but make sure you come back tomorrow morning as I will be sharing a new Shining the Light Challenge card with you all.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,

Hello again.....

wow, this is my second post in one day......I hope I am not boring you! ;D

I had a few minutes this morning and as I was reading my blog list updates, I've noticed that Betty had another SNTODBD6 (Stampinb in Time Challenge) up!! Did you all know that Betty changed the rules a little 2 weeks ago...so not a specific stamp set has to be used anymore, but ANY ODBD stamps, YEAH!!!! Anyhow...I've decided that I was going to whip up a card real quick...'cause you know sometimes I need to encourage myself ;D;D.

Some may have noticed that I have created bunches of cards with the new Scripture Collection 3 and 4 that where released during Our Daily Bread Designs Anniversary and I must say...I am TOTALLY addicted to these stamps. There is a scripture for just anything in there. If you have not done so, head on over to the ODBD store and check it out, you will not be disappointed!!

But on to my card. Betty comes up with some pretty amazing challenges and this week she is asking to make a monochromatic card! Well, have a look and see what my interpretation of that is

Monochromatic Mark 11:24

Recipe:
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, Kraft, K&Company Classic K

Stamp: ODBD Scripture Collection 3

Ink: Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Tea Dye, Antique Linen, Old Paper

Accessories: Nesties Labels 4, Cricut Expression and the Accent Essentials cartridge for the flower (this is the FIRST flower on the keypad overlay in the second row from the bottom ;D) Antique copper cross charm, Chino colored satin ribbon and Kaiser half pearls in Chino, Tim Holtz distressing tool.

So, what do you think? Do you think this works? If you would like to find out more about this wonderful challenge which runs bi-weekly, so you'll have lots of time to create, head on over to the ODBD Blog .

Thanks so much for stopping by. I am always thrilled when you come and visit me. Besides stamping it is my therapy and I enjoy reading your thoughts on my creations.

Have a fantastic day!!

Hugs,

Hello on this Thursday morning.....

my stamping friends!!! Are you ready for some more cards from me? For the last few days I have been showing you some cards I have been working on but had not yet posted. Well, the ones that I am about to show you today are two of those ;D.

These two cards look somewhat similar, as I wanted to make a set to go in a box, but changed my mind :D. You all know what I am talking about, right? You have an idea in your head, but you change last minute and don't go with it at all.

Have a look at my

Be still......

Recipe:

Paper: SU Creamy Caramel, PTI Dark Chocolate, K&Company Roam

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 3 and Iron Works Borders

Ink: SU Creamy Caramel, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Walnut Stain

Accessories: Nesties Labels 1, Sizzix embossing folder Damask, Ginger Dew Drops, cream flower handmade using my Cricut Expression and the Accent Essentials cartridge, antique copper brad, dark brown sheer ribbon, tulle butterfly, foam tape, 3D glue dots

To make the embossed BG stand out a little more I rubbed my sponge with the Distressing Ink over it and it sure enough made the embossing pop :D:D!! I think that this Damask embossing folder works pretty well with the Ironworks stamp set which is part of the Anniversary stamp sets that was just released last week.

All right, that was that and on to my second card

Be strong......

Recipe:
Paper: SU Creamy Caramel, Groovy Guave (ret.) DCWV The Rustic Stack

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 3

Ink: SU Creamy Caramel, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Tea Dye

Accessories: Nesties Labels 1, Toffee colored satin ribbon, Copper Dew Drops, paper flowers from a big bunch I bought at Michael's and simply cut off the long stems ;D;D, EK Success Scroll edger punch, antique brass heart charm and cross charm (you have to look close to see the cross charm..it is right n top of the heart, sorry) Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Autumn Leaves, Tim Holtz Distressing tool, foam tape, 3D glue dots, Kaiser half pearls in copper, Maya Road Vintage pearl stick pin and brown glass bead and antique brass spacer bead and stopper.

If you click on the photo you can see the shimmer the DP has. If you have not looked at the DWCV The Rustic Stack...go and check it out. Online does not do any justice. I went to Joanne's a few weeks ago and actually picked it up and fell in love right there in the store....awesome papers, some are shimmery others are not...just the right heavy paper for a Vintage feel. I love it!!

So, what do you think? I am now just waiting for the right occasion to give these cards to a friend or two that needs some encouragement. ;D

Thanks for stopping by today....you certainly made my day!!!

Hugs and blessings,

Happy Wednesday....

my stamping friends!!! As promised yesterday I will be showing you a few more cards over the next days that I have been working on. Today I have 2 for you...one masculine one and one with one of the new Anniversary Scripture Collection 4!!! If you have not yet seen those 2 new Scripture Collection Sets, you are missing out!!!

All right, let's get started and see what you think about the masculine card

For God so loved the world....

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Kraft, Dark Chocolate

Stamps: ODBD He is Risen

Ink: VersaMark, Chocolate Brown embossing powder, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Tea Dye (for the cross and the sponging of the edges)

Accessories: Nesties Large Deckled Rectangles, Jute Rick-Rack, antique copper hardware, Cuttlebug embossing folder Forest Branches

Yep, it is a pretty plain card but I thought it would be nice to make a card for my Pastor for Easter that does not scream flowers and over the top embellishments,LOL!! What do you think...does it work?

Now on to my second card...this one is more the traditional "Sabrina" card....with the works,LOL!!

Psalm 62:1-2

Recipe:
Paper: PTI White, Dark Chocolate, Memory Box Frond

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 4

Psalm 62:1-2

Ink: SU Chocoloate Chip, SU Mellow Moss

Accessories: Nesties Labels 6, antique brass cross charm, golden cording, Smoke Blue sheer ribbon, EK Success Scroll punch, dark blue Dew Drops, foam tape

I did not add any flowers as this paper is so gorgeous, IMHO, that I did not want to take anything away from it. Wouldn't you agree?

Wow, this was quite the post today, but I hope that I did not bore you too much and that you did find some inspiration.

As always, thank you so very much for taking the time to come and visit me.

I am truly thankful for each and every one of you!!! You my friends make my day very SPECIAL!!!

Hello friends.......

on this not so sunny day here in Southern Arizona. Yesterday was a gorgeous day with temps reaching the 80's and today, well, it is all cloudy and not so nice.

All right, I am sure you did not come to see my because I am telling you about the weather, LOL, but to see a card. Well, I have just that.......a card.

About 2 weeks ago or so my neighbor and friend showed me some K&Company acetate overlays she had found at Mike's and I was blown away the way they looked. Anyhow.....the sweet friend she is...she went right back to Mike's while out and about to get me some. Love ya, girl!!

Since they had been sitting on my table ever since, I've decided this morning that it was time to give them a try.

After choosing my paper...some K&Company DP from the Classic K pad which coordinated pretty well with the overlay ;D, I went for it.

Have a look at my Mark 11:24 card

Therefore, I tell you.......

Recipe:
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, K&Company Classic K, K&Company acetate overlay

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 3

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa

Accessories: Recollections clear rhinestone flourish, red rhinestone crystals, red Prima daisies, cream Prima mini rose, Maya Road Vintage black pearl pin which I colored red with a Copic marker ;D
Tim Holtz distressing toll

Wow, I tell you, the hardest part was to take a photo that did not show any glare. The scripture is stamped on the paper directly and not on the acetate. I think I like the outcome :D.

What do you think?

Well, I have a ton more cards to share....I am kind of in a creative mood right now, but I will spread them out a bit so you won't get too tired of me,LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you'll have a creative day.

Hugs and blessings,

It is Saturday and time for.....

another ODBD Shining the Light Challenge. Can you believe we are already at challenge # 6? WOW, time sure flies when you are having fun!!! This week we were challenged by our awesome team leader Chris to think Spring and New Life. Since today is the first day of Spring, create something for Spring using Spring colors and images portraying New Life. Don't you just think that this is perfect for an Easter Creation being that we are 'New Creatures in Christ' !!!! I have tried to incorporate both....Spring colors and a scripture to say just that...being a new creature as this wonderful scripture Galatians 2:20 explains.

"I have been crucified with Christ,

I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.

The life I live in the body,

I live by Faith in the Son of God,

who loved me and gave himself for me."

Have a look at my creation
