Happy Sunday....

stamping friends!  Wow, this weeks has just flown by and I can't believe it is Sunday already. Anyhow, since it is Sunday I have a project to share with you all that I made for this weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge. This week it is the super talented, Miesje Flach, that is hosting our challenge and Miesje has chosen the following scripture

Galatians 5:1 "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery

The challenge is to create a

Red, White, and Blue thank you card.

This scripture had me thinking for a minute and this is what I got from it. When we decide to give our life to Christ we are a new creature. Washed white as snow and all of our sins are no more, right? Well, this is what my Bible tells me, so it has got to be true, since the Bible is the WORD of GOD!! So, since we were set free, we can rest asured that we have to walk no lnger in the believes we had before we decided to get saved and since all of our sins has been washed away in the sea of forgiveness, those sins and things we did, should not weigh us down any longer. See, the devil is trying it's hardest to make us believe that we are nothing and that we never will be anything, but THANKS to Jesus we are FREE, we have to set our minds on the things that God himself promises us and walk the walk of faith. It is totally up to us what we do with that blank slate that God has given us. We make our choices, yes, that is true, but if we feed on the word of God and see in his unchanging word, that he has a plan of success for all of us that believe in him, we will be able to enjoy that freedom and will be able to walk the walk. Thank You JESUS, for all that you have suffered, so I can be free.

All right, these are my thought on this scripture and now let me share my card with you.  I did not want to go the traditional "red/white/blue" route so I changed it up a bit and just took my DP as my inspiration. Have a look and see for yourself

Thank You.....

Recipe:

Paper:  PTI White, Spring Rain, DP is from my stash and I have no idea who made it

Stamps: ODBD Mini Tags 2

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, SU Bashful Blue

Accessories: Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio Three, Wilton white paper doily, Zva Creative white pearl flourish which was colored using a Copic marker, Prima mini flowers in red, Prima flower in blue, Wild Orchid Crafts roses in ivory and blue, red rhinestones from my stash, red sheer ribbon and white cotton crochet lace

What do you think of my version of the "red/white/blue" thank you card?

I hope I was able to inspire you, if you happen to need just a little more inspiration, make sure you'll head on over to see what

Chris, Grace, Kris, Linda, Lisa, Marilynn, Miesje, Peggysue and Rebekka

have come up with. I am always blown away by the creativity of these wonderful sisters.

Thanks for stopping by today. Make sure you head on over to the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Blog to see who the sponsor for this week is. I hear there are some digi images to be won ;D

Have a blessed week!

SSIC#93

Good Sunday morning stamping friends!  Wow, this week really has flown by. My oldest was in basketball camp and had a blast. It was organized by a local church and they were sure sneaking in some bible teaching and prayer as well....LOVE it!! I am already looking forward to VBS the beginning of July. All right, this week over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ none other than Lisa Hjulberg is the hostess and she has been challenging us to create a Father's Day card or card that honors God. Well, I went with a card to honor God. Not that hard, as I believe any time you use a scripture on your card, you are doing just that. Lisa has chosen this scripture

(Eph 6:2-4 NRSV) "Honor your father and mother"--this is the first commandment with a promise: {3} "so that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth." {4} And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

And here is what I came up with

Anchor

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Kraft, textured card stock from my stash, Basic Grey Lime Rickey, Life of the Party

Stamps: ODBD Anchor

Ink: VersaFne Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Faded Jeans

Accessories: MayArts Twine, Basic Grey buttons, Spellbinders Eyelet Squares, Labels 12

What do you think? I know my cards are always a little more simple than the cards I usually make, but according to my husband, men don't like all of that stuff on their cards. ;D

If you would like to see what my Design Sisters have come up with make sure you'll head on over to

Chris, Grace, Kristine, Linda, Lisa, Marilynn, Miesje, PeggySue and Rebekka have come up with.

For all of the details for this awesome challenge make sure you head on over to the SSIC Blog.

Sponsor this week is

                                               Simon Says Stamp

and you can win a set called     "Elephant Love".

That is it for me for today! Thanks for stopping by and making my day a little brighter!

Have a wonderfully blessed Sunday and I hope you'll get to play along.

Time with.......

Good morning my stamping friends!!! It is Thursday and that means that bi-weekly one of the members of the Design Team is sharing a little special something over at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog  and this week it is me that has the pleasure of sharing that little something with you all. :D:D

I will be sharing a little project with you all that comes in handy when you want to give a little something to a friend. I was at Michael's a few weeks back and they had these cute little boxes

not bad, but a little bland for my taste. So I thought, if I just add a little Designer paper and some flowers this could be a fun gift box. So I've got my paper and flowers out and off course I had to use some lace and this is what came out

front view

Recipe:

Paper: K&Company , textured cs from my stash

Stamps: ODBD Friendship, Mini Tags 3

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, Chalk Ink in Prusian Blue

Accessories: Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Squares, Parisian Accents, Labels 20, Zva Creative small pearl flourish, Wild Orchis Crafts flowers, Prima rose, leaf was cut with my Cricut Expression and the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge, fabric lace and cream loop lace are from my stash, Recollections half pearl

So, what do you think? Doesn't this make a fun little gift box or even keepsake box?
With very little effort you can turn an ordinary box in a gift on it's own with just a little paper and some embellishments.  I hope you've enjoyed your time with me today.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and making my day a little brighter by just saying "hi"!

Have a blessed and super creative day.

SSIC92.......It's gotta be new

Good morning on this beautiful Sunday morning that the Lord has made!!! Stamping friends, are you ready for a new Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge? This week it is Linda's turn, who is also know as LovelyLinda. Linda has chosen this fabulous scripture

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. John 13:34-35

and the challenge is to

Use something new on your project - it can be a new product, technique, embellishment - even a color combo that is new to you - show us what you got!!

The scripture Linda chose is a very powerful one and always reminds me that if I want to make it to heaven I have to show love to every one!!!! Yes, everyone, I can't have hate in my heart if I want to make it to heaven. God is not asking us anything that is impossible....he never did and he never will, it is up to us how we apply his word to our life and how we treat each other. Can you image that when it is your time to go to heaven and you are standing at heavens gate and you are not allowed in? You begin to wonder and possibly even throw a fit...saying that you lived a good Christian life and did all that was asked of you, but God says...there was one little tiny thing that you did not do, you did not love your neighbor or your co-worker or even one of your family members. Love is such an easy thing to do, it does not cost anything...all you've got to do is GIVE it! Sometimes it just needs to be that you open the door for someone or simply give a smile. This is a new day try to show some love and I guarantee you that God will bless you!!

Are you ready now to see what I came up with for this challenge? I actually got to use a brand new stamp set called "Serve the Lord" by ODBD, a new Spellbinders die Fleur De Lis Squares, and dies cuts from a new Cricut cartridge I just got the other day called Cindy Loo (I know it is not new on the market, but it is new to me ;D) and last but not least this wonderful and super beautiful pin I bought on clearance.  Don't you just love when your card  serves two purposes? I have a card and a gift all in one.....love it!!!

Hello on this Friday afternoon.....

my sweet stamping friends!!  I hope all of you are ready for the weekend and possibly get some time squeezed in to create. As most of you know Wednesday was "new release day" over at Our Daily Bread Designs and goodness, what a release it was!! I know I say this a lot, but every month seems to get better and better. This month Kelley has release a set that is called "Serve the Lord" and the matching ODBD Custom Dies called "Crocheted Circle Die" and "Crocheted Border Die" and I am totally in love!!!! Most of you know that I love creating Vintage kind of cards and these dies are perfect in combination with this wonderful "Serve the Lord" stamp set. To see the entire June release make sure you'll head on over to the ODBD website.

All right, since I LOVE this new set so much I decided to make a quick card and this is what came out

My Father will.......

Recipe:

Stamps: ODBD Serve the Lord

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa

Accessories: ODBD Custom Dies  Crocheted Circle Die, Crocheted Border Die, Zva Creative pearl flourish, resin flower, Bermuda Bay handdyed seam binding, Spellbinders Classic Circle Die

So, what do you think? Pretty cool looking dies aren't they? And that stamp set, so perfect for so many occasions. I chose the John 12:26 stamp, but the set comes with 2 scriptures, 2 sentiments, 1 circle image and the border image, so lots to play with.
