Rise and Shine my sweet stamping friends! It is Sunday and time for a new Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge. This weeks host is none other than Miesje.
Miesje has chosen the following scripture for us
Luke 18:17 "Amen I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it."
My thoughts on this wonderful scripture are going way back when I've got saved. I remember I was so hungry for everything that had to do with the bible and wanting to know it all!!! I was studying hard and made lots of notes. See, me being German and English not being my first language it was hard for me to understand the King James Version of the bible. My then friend and now husband bought me a compatible bible, you know one of those GIANT bibles that has 4 different versions of the bible in one book. Yes, I did have a German bible, but I was attending a Baptist church back then on a Military Base and I wanted to understand what they were teaching. One of the sisters and the pastor back then told me in the New Comers class I was only a babe in Christ and I needed to learn like a child. To make a long story short, I chose to study the New American Standard version back then and everything looked much easier. As I used to say: "the King James Version used mostly $25 words and I needed to feed on the 25 cents ones first". In other words I started with milk or formula if you will and made my way up to the more solid food just like children do. I am now after all of these words still sometimes have to go back to a version that breaks things down a little more, but that is all right, I am able to break things down and help other new believers out a lot more, since I've been there and done that ;D.
We can't expect to be fully equipped when we first get saved, you have to learn to walk the walk. A walk that I am proud of walking and I hope that when that day comes that I will be one of those that will have their name written in the big book and GOD will welcome me with open arms. I am not saying I am perfect yet, but I am striving to get there.
Well, by doing all of this talking today, I totally forgot to tell you what the challenge is:

Sabrina, your card is totally cute! Love how you are getting out of your comfort zone...giggle! Hugs ~S~
So very sweet Sabrina! I like that image and all the embellishments! Your words are so interesting to read too, even though English was my first language I still found the King James version of the bible a bit difficult to understand. It wasn't until I had the NIV that I was able to decipher Luke, for example, so you are not alone. I was a baby Christian at age 30 . . . took me a while. :)
Cute card Sabrina!! love the image and rhinestones =)
Sabrina, thank you for sharing some of your journey with reading the bible. I cannot imagine going from German to English. But you did it! :)
The card that you made is so adorable. The stamps are precious and your color combination. I also love that you added lace. :) I hope that you have a wonderful week.

Adorable card, Sabrina! I must agree that the King James is a tough Bible to read. How wonderful your friend/husband gave you such a fabulous gift.
I am sorry I did not make it here yesterday my friend. I was away and only had a brief window of time to comment. I went to yours first but it was not up at the time. Sorry...
