Oh my........

has it really been that looooooooong since I've posted? I am terribly sorry for being such a bad Blogger, but please don't leave me!!!! I am still not feeling all that well, and I think it is finally time to make an appointment and get checked out. You all have to know that I hate doctors, really, really hate doctors every since I was like 6 years old and I DO NOT go to see one until there is absolutely no other way for me. I think I have reached that point with these migraine headaches. So please don't be too disappointed that I have not posted. I do have a card for you today. It has been sitting on my desk since Sunday when I decided to make a card for Sharon Johnson's stamp simple challenge. She asked all the participants to " Let's Pipe Up" to find out more about this go on over to "No Time To Stamp" Sharon always has these fun ideas and I love participating in her challenges. For this card I've used some of the super gorgeous double sided DP from K&Company I bought last week on a trip with my 3 y.o. to Michael's and Joann's. I actually bought two different packs one at M's and one and J's ;P. Please, don't tell my DH!!!!


You all know by now that I have a love for Vintage and this DP is exactly this, Vintage. The best part though, I got both of them on sale. The one I bought at M's I got for 50% off (hint if you sign up for the Knack on Michael's .com which has projects for kids) they send you additional coupons and they are usually 50% ones!!!! That was reason enough for me to sign up!!!!


The one I bought at J's was 40% off but that was worth it with that paper, because I only paid like $ 5.99 and it has 36 papers I believe. Enough yadayada and let me show you the card

Good Monday afternoon.....

to you my friends!!! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I, well, we had a busy one and I only had a few minutes to stamp ;(. But, I do have something for you. Remember my square card I made the other day? Well, I have another 5.5"x5.5" card. It just felt right so I went for it. As I was going through my paper stash I just kept on stopping at the same paper several times and so I decided to just make a card out of it. As you all know I love my Basic Grey papers and I try not to cut them up too much, most of the time that ;P, and it was no different with this one. To stay within the colors of that DP I chose PTI Sweet Blush, True Black and SU Pretty in Pink I thought it made the DP pop a little more. I also used my scalloped oval Marvy punches which I have not used in quite a while (guess I am getting too used to all of my Nesties :D). The Sentiment is one of the many scriptures you get when you purchase the In God's Hand set from http://www.cleardollarstamps.com/ The stamps are kind of on the small side, but you get a lot of stamps for $ 7.99 in this case. So, to not drag it any longer I'll show you the end result.

So, what do you all think? Those little flowers by Prima are really cool. I found them at Mike's for only $ 2.99 they come in a package of 24 and you get 6 in 4 different styles. The card turned out to be pretty heavy, so I think I'll keep this one for hand-delivery.

as happy as I am about that? Hello my friends, I hope you are all doing well on this Friday. Today I have a little something for y'all. Yesterday I had a look around SCS and the "ways to use it" challenge caught my eye. Julia asked to frame it, well, that can be done quite a few ways so for more info go here to find out WT214 and since I love when something kind of works itself out and I can kill two flies at the same time, I incorporated Sharon Johnson's challenge "Stamp Simply # 83" thread it through. To make these two challenges one I knew I had to use my Cricut Expression and my Accent Essentials cartridge for it. This cart has a tag/label on it that is similar to the Top Note and when you cut it out it cuts a positive and a negative. In this case I had my frame and a label all at ones ;P. To make that frame a little more interesting I ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Script embossing folder, to add a little something I also wanted a flourish on my card so the same cart cut a 1.5" flourish for me. I love it when things work out that easy, don't you? Well, to get the "thread it through" for Sharon's challenge in there I just had to thread ribbon in and out the frame and to add a little umph (I know this is not a real word, sorry) I threaded some glass beads on some very narrow satin ribbon and weaved it in and out as well. Have a look and see what I did

The second card I have for you, was done with the also new set by ISC which it is called Nature Silhouettes II and I used the Daisy like flower of this set today plus the gorgeous larger size butterfly. Love it!!!!! I had a hard time trying to figure out what to use as a BG so I chose one of my favorite Basic Grey pads "Ambrosia" and this cream/orange paper looked just right.

Be honest, does the paper work with this stamp? To give the butterflies some more dimension I curled the wings and only attached them with a dab of Tombo glue. You probably can't see it in the picture, but the paper is distressed around the edges, which came that way, so I used some sponging on the focal image to make it blend a bit more.

Last but not least I have a card set for you. Yes, Betsy asked us to create a mini cards set with 3x3 cards using the third new set which is called Dainty Daisies and has Daisies in all kind of sizes. Last month I ordered some Pale Plum cs from SU and had yet to use it so I decided on going Pale Plum for this one. I created a very simple set, but by adding some bling and pearls I think they came out all right.

Accessories: white satin ribbon, half pearls by Kaiser and purple crystals from my stash (I believe they are from Japan {I bought quite a few of them while we were there ;P}

The little box is a simple one I just whipped up cutting some Pale Plum cs 6.25"X6.25 " and scored it on my Scor-Pal @ 1.5" on all 4 sides. The lid is done in the same fashion but scored at 1" on all four sides in PTI white cs and was cut to 6 3/8"x6 3/8 (just slightly larger than the bottom) To add a little to it I've tried to use my new Martha Stewart edger punch, but that darn thing does not like PTI cs, so I gave up before I broke it and cut a new piece and used my trusty scallop scissors I've had for years. The sentiment on the lid of the box is not one that is included in the Dainty Daisies set, I cheated a little and pulled it from the Passion Flower set which is also available from ISC.

Wheeew, I did it!!!! I completed my post. Thank you so very much my friends for stopping by today. I have to clean my stamp room now, but I hope to be back tomorrow. I really liked the OCC challenge so I might just do that a little later ;P.

I am so sorry.......

I have been MIA, but I am still dealing with these severe headaches/migraines. So, please, forgive me for being such a bad blogger, but just as soon as this is under control I'll do my very BEST to post more often. I have some exciting news for you though. Did I promise too much? This is truly a fun stamp set.

For my second card I used a technique I had never tried before. I know I am living behind the moon and I just never tried it. I bought some chalks when I first started stamping almost 2 years ago now, and they have been in my supply closet ever since. The stamp set I've used is called Natures Silhouettes II and these wild flowers just screamed for the popping pastels technique. I stamped the image on my card stock with VersaMark ind and simply rubbed the chalk of my choice over it. I had tried something different before, where I used the same stamp with Le Plum markers and and ink pad, but I did not get the desired effect, so I just went for the popping pastels technique and love it. What do you think, does this technique work for this stamp?

All right. I promised you three cards so last but not least I have another one that was done with the Nature Silhouettes II stamp set and I got the idea for this one out of one of my way too many stamping and card making magazines. It is a very simple card and would actually kind of pass as a CAS card, because all I did here is stamp the silhouettes. This ISC stamp set comes with a few Spanish sentiments to choose from and I decided to go with the "Gracia's" since I would say that most everybody knows what that means ;P. I am bilingual, but Spanish is not one of them, so all the Spanish words I know I picked up watching Dora the Explorer with my daughters :D:D:D:D. Ask me anything in German and I'll be good to go, but Spanish is not it, so I'll have to find out what the other Spanish words mean before I stamp with them.

As I said, a very simple card and I did that because I did not want to take away from the beauty of the images. I grew up in the country. I mean serious country. The small village I grew up in back in Germany only had about 400 people living there. Everybody new each other (for the most part) and the thing about Germany, when I grew up the key was always in the door and everybody could just walk in, without having to fear that something would be missing. Can't do that these days. Anyhow, where I grew up we were surrounded by forest and fields as far as the eye went. As kids we were always out and about and playing outside and we never had a dull moment. From most of our outside playing sessions we would bring home wild flowers. My Mom and Grandma (Oma, is the word for it in German) always welcomed those flowers because of their natural beauty even if they were weeds, LOL!. Sorry, I just had to share a little something about my childhood with you.

Happy Tuesday evening......

friends!!! Hope you all had a wonderful sunny Tuesday. Can you believe that we hit the 90's today? I was just telling my hubby, if this temperature stays like this I'll have to turn the A/C on!!! Remember, I've told you all yesterday that I have another card for you all? Well, here it is. It actually fits two challenges. I made it for the OCC (Our Creative Corner) challenge that my German friend Silke is hosting this month and for the BVC09 over at SCS. She asked to use your favorite Easter themed stamp. Well, I don't have any bunny stamps or Easter egg stamps and I did not really have any other Easter themed stamps as well. So I thought! I had ordered a stamp sheet from Clear Dollar Stamps and it happens to have Luke 24:6 on it as well. For those of you that are not familiar with this scripture it reads as follows "He is not here but is Risen". How powerful is that? It for sure reminds you what Easter is all about. For this card I got to use some more of my DCWV mat stack La Creme and some cute little Prima paper roses I found at Michael's last week. They had just the right color for this yummy paper and the ribbon which I bought just to buy it ;P at Big Lots, the card came together rather quick. I've tried to tie the ribbon so it would look like a cross, since this is where Jesus died. To make the paper pop a little more I added a black mat and it sure did the trick. To top it off I also cut a label with my Home Accent cartridge for my Cricut Expression . The scripture stamp is not very large, so I was able to cut the label at 1" and it worked just great.
