I love the Lord......

Hello my stamping friends!! I have a card to share with you all today, that I made this morning after finding this one little piece of DP in my scrap paper box. You all probably have one of those boxes or folders as well, where you put all of those awesome pieces of scrap DP you have left over from projects. This morning, when I was bitten by the "straighten up" bug, yup, not the "deep cleaning" bug, LOL, and I just had to use it right away!!

I made this very CAS card and was also able to use some of my new Spellbinders dies that I had ordered ;D.

Have a look and see for yourself

I love the Lord.......

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, True Black, DCWV Mariposa Designer Paper Pad

Stamps:  ODBD Scripture Collection 6

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black

Accessories: Spellbinders  Labels 18, Parisian Accents, Recollections golden half pearls, red rhinestones from my stash
See, I've told you it was a CAS card, didn't I? :D:D:D

Straight forward with that little extra kick,LOL!!  To achieve the frame I cut the second largest Labels 18 in True Black twice and then the next smallest in Vintage Cream. After cutting those out I used that smaller die and put  it upside down on one of the black labels 18 that I cut and viola I had the outside frame. Since I popped the frame up on foam tape, I used double sided tape to adhere the Vintage Cream label directly on the black label attached the foam tape to the frame and added it over the scripture and base. To give the frame a little more ummmmph I also cut the smallest of the corners from the Parisian Accents in black and adhered them upside down unto the frame and added a red rhinestone to make it pop a little more.

What do you think?  Well, this is it for me for today, gotta get a snack for my oldest out. She'll be walking in the door any minute now and wants something to eat before she gets to her homework .;D;D

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Have a blessed evening!!

Hugs,

Piece it for Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge 82

Good Sunday morning my stamping friends. It is time for a new Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge and it is a fun one.

Today's host is none other than Lisa and she chose

Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

The challenge is a different kind of peace... piece... as in paper piecing. Use paper piecing in the main image of your card/project.

And this is what I came up with

Thinking of You

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Soft Stone, True Black, Basic Grey Majorlaine

Stamps: Inkadinkado,   Victoria Case's  Aud

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Weathered Wood

Accessories: Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 14, Standard Circles Large, Lacey Circles, EK Success border punch Arches, Martha Stewart seam binding in cloud, Prima flowers, green rhinestones and rhinestone butterfly, Zva Creative small half pearls

So, what do you think? This is very different for me, so much outside my usual Shabby more Vintage cards, but it was actually kind of fun going outside my comfort zone. :D:D

To see what Chris, Grace, Kristine, Linda, Lisa, Marilynn, Miesje, Peggysue and Rebekka have come up with make sure you visit them after you leave here.

Sorry, I am keeping it short and sweet today, but I am a bit under the weather :C.

Thanks for stopping by today and brightening my day.

Have a blessed week!!

Hugs,

This is the day that the Lord has made....

let us rejoice and be glad in it!!!  Good morning my stamping sisters, it is Sunday and that calls for a new Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge and this weeks Host is no other than my sweet friend Grace Nywening!!
Grace is such an amazing person and has a HUGE heart not just for people but for GOD!! Grace chose this scripture:

Matthew 6:6 "But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you."

I must say, I very seldom go into my prayer closet so to speak. Being a busy mom of two I do most of my praying either while driving or while I wait in the parking lot to pick up my kiddos from school. See this is the thing about God , he hears you wherever you are. He will NEVER say I am too busy too listen right now, he is there when you call upon him and that, my friends, is one thing that got me totally hooked on GOD ;D.  We all know that God is an omnipresent  God, so there is no worry that he won't hear my cry, or my rejoicing, he is right there with me!! All right, got my little little message out for this morning and now I am sure you all would like to hear what the challenge is for today, right?

Well, here it goes:

Create a card or project that has something hidden from first view. It could be many things... an envelope, a pull out, doors that open to reveal something, a Joy Fold, Flip Flop, Magic, Slider...anything that you don't see at first glance.

For my card I went the easy route, but I'll have to show you two pictures so you'll see my hidden message :D:D

Thinking of You.......

Here you can't see the message

and here you can
Recipe: Paper: PTI White, Simply Chartreuse, Basic Grey Olivia

Stamps: ODBD Thinking of You

Ink: Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Worn Lipstick, VersaFine Onyx Black

Accessories: Spellbinders Nested Hearts    antique pink cotton crochet lace , paper roses, pink half pearls, MayArts leaf ribbon (which I cut apart and added under the roses), butterfly, Recollections pearl brad
So, what do you think? I know it is nothing fancy, but I have a hidden message, right? :D:D

If you would like some more inspiration before you'll get your stamping going check out what my Design Sisters   Grace, Chris, Kristine, Marilynn, Linda, Lisa, Peggysue, Miesje and Rebekka
have come up with.

This weeks sponsor is non other than Our Daily Bread Designs and the prize is a $ 15 gift certificate to go toward your stamp purchase.   If you have a minute you should head on over there and admire all of the NEW Anniversary Sets that were just released on Thursday......AWESOME!!! :D:D

Well, this is it for me for today! Thanks so much for stopping by and making my day just a little sweeter!

I hope you will get to play along.

Have a blessed day!!

Good Sunday morning....

stamping friends!!  It's a new week and that calls for a new Stampin' Sisters In Christ Challenge "SSIC80". This weeks the ever so talented and super sweet Linda Lucas aka LovelyLinda is hosting and her challenge is to

Use something you treasure on your card - whether it be bling, flowers, something new or have been saving for a long time - show us your treasures!

The scripture Linda chose today is:

Mat 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
When I saw this challenge I knew already what I was going to use as my treasure, but I knew I did not have a stamp that has this wonderful scripture on it (not yet ;D;D) so, I went with a saying by Mother Teresa which says

"Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies!"

See sometimes we think we have to have all of that stuff the bigger the better, but we have to realize, that if we are able to be faithful with the small things in life, that sooner or later GOD will bless us with the bigger things!!

So with that said, I will show you  my card

Be faithful in small things......

ODBDSLC 52 Pearls or leather...that's the question?

Good morning my stamping friends. It is Saturday and that means it is time for another Shining the Light Challenge over at ODBD!!  Today we are going to have a very special challenge planned for you ;D

Use Leather or pearls on your creation:
Since this is the week of ODBD's Third Anniversary, we are having a special 3rd Anniversary challenge of using Pearls or Leather (this can be real leather or suede or faux leather or suede- it can be the technique for these as well) or pearls (pearls, pearl paper, pearl glimmer mist, etc).

Leather is the traditional anniversary gift sent for a three year anniversary and pearls is the gem.)

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a special prize, a $25 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, March 17. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday. If you are not using ODBD stamps, please do not enter more than once. Additional entries without using ODBD stamps will not be commented on or will they qualify for prizes.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them.As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by March 17 at 8 p.m. EST.If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC52. When creating your posts on blogs please include a direct link to the challenge.

See, since I could not make up my mind what I should do, I made TWO cards :D:D

My first one uses LOTS of pearls

Mother Teresa......

Recipe: PTI Vintage Cream, DCWV Mariposa card stock pad, Story of Us "I am Yours" embossed DP

Stamps: ODBD Mother Teresa

Ink: VersaMark, Ranger golden detail embossing powder

Accessories: Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Pendant, ODBD Labels 1, handmade flower, Pearl Glimmer Mist, handmade pearl stick pin, Recollections half pearls

And now right on to my second card, which is totally different. When I read leather (faux or real) my wheels were turning and I thought of the faux suede technique you achieve by using a brayer, liquid applique and a heat gun. After I did that I distressed "Big Times" :D:D and used Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in Vintage Photo and StazOn Timber Brown to really distress my faux leather but I was not happy with it, so I used my trusty old Tim Holtz Distressing Tool to make my main panel look like it was AGES old,LOL!!  Since I had distressed my main panel so much, I had to do something with my fish, so I crumbled my cs all up rubbed my sponges with some THDI (Tim Holtz Distressing Ink) in Vintage Photo and Tea Dye, added some hemp twine and some wood beads and this is what came out

Jesus

and a picture of the inside

Recipe: PTI Kraft, Dark Chocolate

Stamps: ODBD Nail Fish , ODBD He will Rise

Ink: Tim Holtz Distressing Ink, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Memento Rich Cocoa, StazOn Timber Brown

Accessories: hemp twine, wood beads, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, brown liquid applique, heat gun

So, what do you think  about these two oh so different creations?   I really hope that these two cards get your creative juices flowing so you can participate and get just a bit closer of being able to win that $ 25 gift certificate this week. If this is not enough inspiration head on over and see what my Design Sisters

Lori  (Guest-Designer)

and Silke
have come up with.

Remember you can find out all about this challenge and what else is going on over at ODBD at the ODBD Blog

Thanks so much for stopping by today, it is always such a joy to see who comes to see me!! You truly make my day!!

Have a blessed and super creative day!!

Hugs,

Hello on this glorious Sunday......

my stamping friends!!!   I have some exciting news to share with you all. I was contacted by Lisa Hjulberg and she asked me if I would join the Stampin' Sisters In Christ Challenge and I've said yes!!  I am excited to get the opportunity to spread God's word just a little more now. Also returning to SSIC is Kristine, one of the challenge's creators is returning after a break (WooHoo!!!!)... and MariLynn are also joining!

So today I am excited to be sharing a card with you that I made for this weeks inspiration written by Chris Olsen, one of my dear friends whom I also have the pleasure working with over at ODBD!!

She has chosen
Isaiah 40:8 for today's Scripture.

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Her challenge is:

Use a stamped flower image on your creation...
dp, embossing or paper flowers do not count as a stamped flower
Please read Chris' complete devotional thoughts on this great passage on the SSIC Blog!

Here is what I came up with when I read Chris's challenge:

Recipe:  PTI  Vintage Cream, Ripe Avocado, K&Company Sunsan Winget Nature DP

Stamps: ODBD The Lord has Risen,   Happy Easter

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Antique Linen, Old Paper

Accessories: Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 3 and 5, Offray cotton crochet lace, hand dyed seam binding, handmade stick pin, green glass beads, antique brass spacer beads, Zva Creative small pearl flourishes, Copics to color in the daffodil

Hello on this super sunny and warm......

Thursday my stamping friends!!  I was just sitting here reading my Blogger updates and saw this weeks Basic Grey Challenge. I have really never played in this challenge and thought it was about time that I did ;D;D.  I hoard, really, I do hoard Basic Grey paper, if there is a new release I buy at least 2 of the pads I like, if not more! :D:D  So, what better chance than this to use some of it up and off course I had to grab some of the super awesome Curio pad. This weeks challenge is a sketch challenge so I was playing around with it and this right here is what came out

Faith

and this is the sketch

The recipe for my card is as follows:

Paper: PTI Rustic Cream, Dark Chocolate, Ripe Avocado, Basic Grey Curio

Stamp: ODBD Full of Grace  "Faith"

Ink: StazOn Timber Brown, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Tea Dye, Vintage Photo

Accessories: Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 4, SU embossing folder Antique Wallpaper, hand dyed seam binding , antique brass cross charm, white paper roses colored to match the DP, large handmade flower, foam tape

Well, this is it for right now, I'll have to run and get some chores done. I wish I could just send my kids off to school and go and create all day, but reality sets in really quick, the laundry ain't doing itself and the dishes in the sink stay dirty if I don't intervene :D:D. So, I'd better run and get it all done!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Hugs,
