This week the challenge team is challenging you to use stars and/or stripes on your creation. Since Memorial Day is coming up, we thought this may be fun. Please note that your card or project can be patriotic, but it does not have to be.
To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize , a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, June 3. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday. While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if yo u have them.As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by June 3 at 8 p.m. EST.If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC15. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.

So, are you ready for my creations...yep, I made two as I could not decide what to do...I made one with stars and one with stripes.
Dad
Recipe:
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, SU Buckaroo Blue, SU So Safron, DP from stash, dark blue, burgundy and hunter green cs from my stash for the stars
Stamps: ODBD Dad
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye, VersaFine OnyxBlack
Accessories: Nesties Large Deckled Rectangles, Stars cut with my Cricut Expression and the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool
To give the DP a little more interest I crumbled it up straightened it out and rubbed the TH Distressing Ink in Tea Dye over it. It was still too wrinkled so I ironed it from the back side just a little and achieved the look I was going for. The stars are cut with my Cricut Expression in 2 different sizes and distressed a little on the edges. The word dad is also stamped on a star cut just bog enough to fit the entire word (to be honest I first had it on a rectangle strip, but changed my mind as I went to use a star...I think it works better ;D. What do you think?
All right on to number 2...this one is a bit more feminine
Do not be anxious

Ink: Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Vintage Photo and Shabby Shutters
