Well, this is another masculine and very CAS card from me. I tell ya, it itches in my fingers to add frill and flowers, but I am sure that the male recipient of the card will look at me strange if he gets flowers on a his card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Tomorrow is the last day of school for us for the next six weeks, and my youngest has been home sick, she missed all the fun end of year activities, but what are you gonna do when they get a summer cold....not much.

Again, thanks for stopping by and I pray that you'll have a blessed day!

Fishers of Men

Hello and happy Saturday stamping friends. I am coming to you real quick to share a simple little card before I have to head out the door to go to a wedding. For my card I have used two of the May release stamps called "Fishing Net BG" and "The Waves on the Sea" by Our Daily Bread Designs. If you have not seen this amazing release yet, I strongly encourage you to do so. They are truly fabulous stamps! Alright, here is what my card looks like

See, I've told you it was a simple card. ;D   I know I have said this many times before I struggle making masculine cards, so when I do make a masculine card I try really hard not too over embellish them. I know most of the men I know, don't like frilly and flowers on their cards. :D

I hope I was able to inspire you today and I would like to tank you for stopping by!

Have a blessed weekend!

  • To qualify to win all you have to do is hop to each designer's blog, leave a comment, and return to the ODBD Blog to tell us you completed the hop, and if you had any difficulties along the way!  Easy Peasy!!!

So, since we've gotten the details out of the way I would like to share with you what I came up with.

I have decided to go masculine this time around. I had bought some of those unfinished wood frames you can get just about everywhere, I bought mine at Michael's for $1 ;D

I started out painting the entire frame with white Gesso, after that was dry I used my Lindy's Stamp Gang Star burst in Baby Blue Eyes Aqua (that one came with a dauber, so application was easy) let that dry and then I stamped the brand new Fishing Net Background in Memento Rich Cocoa and that was it as far as stamping was concerned on the frame. For the frame opening I cut a piece of card stock and adhered a piece of DP from the old Basic Grey Oxford paper pad   on it and stamped the Fishing Boat from "The Waves on the Sea" in Steel Blue directly onto the DP, then the scripture Psalm 77:19 from the "Fishing" set and the insert was done.

Now came the fun part I added some Jute Twine and threaded some nautical charm and voila, my frame was done.

Have a look and see for yourself

Recipe:

Paper: DP Basic Grey Oxford, PTI White

Stamps: ODBD Fishing, Fishing Net Background, The Waves on the Sea... also available as the "Fishing Bundle"
Inks: Memento Rich Cocoa, VersaFine Onyx Black, Steel Blue

Accessories: white Gesso, Lindy's Stamp Gang Star burst in Baby Blue Eyes Aqua, SU Brads (prongs removed) antique silver nautical charms, Jute Twine

Well, this is it for me. From here I will send you over to see what the ever so creative Kathy has come up with.

Thanks so much for hopping along with us and getting inspired on how to use those amazing new stamps.

Have a blessed and super creative day!

Hugs,
