ODBDSLC50.....and some exciting news.......

over at Our Daily Bread Designs!!!!

Hello my stamping friends, I hope you all had a wonderful week. Mine was real busy and I did not get to post when I wanted to post.....sorry!!!

Anyhow, today marks the Shining the Light Challenge # 50....goodness, where has time gone?

Before we go on to this week's challenge, we would like to announce and welcome Pat Smethers as one of our full-time Challenge Team designers.  Pat is so sweet and adds an eclectic style to our creations.  Welcome Pat!!!!

We would also like to introduce our new guest designer for March/April.  This young lady has been an active player in our challenges and does a beautiful job with her ODBD Stamps!!  Welcome Lori Ulrich from Saints Rule!!  We can't wait to have you join us next week!!!

Here is a little intro about Lori:

My name is Lori Ulrich.  My husband and I share our small Kentucky farm with 4 beautiful St. Bernards and 3 handsome English Shephards.  We also raise sheep and have a retired racehorse living on our place to mix it up a little!  As you can imagine life is never dull here on our little slice of heaven!  My oldest step-son and his family live less than 20 minutes away!  So I get to see all 5 grandbabies often!  Our youngest is attending university in Virginia completing his Master’s in Missions.

When I’m not stamping, I work as an accountant with a utility company.  I first discovered scrapbooking in 2003 and it proved very therapeutic for me.  A dear friend suggested stamping in 2009 which I took to like a duck does to water!  Stamping has proved to be such a blessing for me and a very powerful outreach.  I try to spread God’s love to those who are ill, need cheering up or a hearty hello!  I happened upon Our Daily Bread Designs in 2009 and instantly became a fan.  I love being able to share God’s word with those who receive my cards.  I appreciate the opportunity to guest for a few months.  It’s always fun to create!  Blessings…

And now on to our challenge!!!

This weeks challenge:  Is a sketch!!  Since Pat is now a full time designer for our Challenge team, Chris thought it would be nice to welcome her by honoring her with a "sketch case"

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $ 15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Happy Valentine's Day.....

my sweet stamping friends!!  I am just popping in to share a little project I was working on last week. A couple of weeks ago I was browsing through Michael's just killing some time when I saw these fun little picture frames. Off course you know me, I love the $ bin at Mike's, so I just had to dig through it. There were brown, orange, green, read and only two white frames. My head started spinning and I just had to grab a few. Even though I will not use the bright green and orange ones without painting them, but I sure had a few things in mind for the white ones, which I could use right away :D:D.  To make a long story short, I used that awesome frame which is like 4x2.5" and made a small wall hanging.  Last year I bought a bunch of these Colorbok  chipboard books, also at the $ bin at Mike's ;D, and never really used them so I thought one of the pages would make a perfect base for my wall hanging, because that frame is after all a tad bit heavy. I gathered my supplies and just went for it and here is the result

Love does not measure..........

Recipe:
Paper: PTI Kraft, Basic Grey Curio

Stamps:  ODBD Let us Begin

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Tea Dye, Antique Linen

Accessories: Colorbok scalloped square chipboard book page, small picture frame, ivory loop trim from my stash, Prima flowers, Maya Road Leaf Trinket Pin, antique brass heart charm, Recollections rhinestone flourishes, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool

So, what do you think?  Isn't this a cool little gift idea and maybe even a nice little Valentine's gift for someone special in your life.

Well, this is it for right now, I have to finish up a little something something I made for my two girls for Valentine's Day, I know I am running a bit behind, but they are both in school, so I am good, I think,LOL!!

Thanks so much stopping by today!!  I hope that you will get spoiled with some special Valentine's today ;D.

Have a wonderfully blessed day!!

Hugs,

ODBD Stamping in Time.......

Hello my stamping friends on this Thursday morning. It is time for another Stamping in Time with Betty Challenge over at ODBD. This week Betty has a guest, a very talented guest Wanda Cullen and Wanda is challenging us with little twist

"It's a Distress Call!" You use any distressing techniques such as tearing, sponging, sanding, crumpling, etc., but the twist is to actually mail your card to encourage someone who has some real life distress going on and could use a little encouragement. We look forward to seeing what you create using ODBD stamps!

As most of you know I use some sort of distressing on MOST of my cards :D, so this was really easy for me. Have a look at and see for yourself

Where did this......

week go? Hello my stamping friends, I hope you all are well and ready for the weekend! Did you all hear that we had a major cold front come through sunny Southern Arizona? Let me tell you it was cold the last couple of days with major issues everywhere, but thank God we were not effected by gas outage or water pipe breaks. My girls school had cracked water pipes and as a result of it, they had a day off today.

Anyhow, you did not come to hear about the cold temps here, but t see what I have created, right? Well, I was able to make two cards this morning while my girls were playing....thank goodness for Nintendo DS ;D;D

My first card is very Vintage and more earthy in color. While at Michael's the beginning of the week I found some amazing metal butterfly stickers...yes, stickers, but they look more like a trinket, plus you can easily color them with Copic markers.   Have a look and see for yourself

Psalm 36:5

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Rustic Cream, Dark Chocolate, Basic Grey Curio

Stamps: ODBD Faith, ODBD Brocade Borders

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, ODBD Olive, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Antique Linen and Vintage Photo

Accessories: Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacey  Squares, ODBD Brocade Die, handmade ribbon flower, ZVA Creative small pearl flourishes, cotton crochet lace, Recollections butterfly, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, sewing machine

But this is not all, I also made a little more Valentine oriented or even Anniversary themed card.

While at Michael's I found some 4" red heart doilies for only 99 cents and I could not say no ;D, plus I had these super fun Prima roses from the Belle Artes Butterfly Collection sitting on my desk so I had to created something with them.  And after a little while this is what I came up with...another one of those cards that just happen,LOL!!

Love does not measure........

Recipe:

Paper:  PTI Fine Linen, Pure Poppy, Basic Grey Curio

Stamps: ODBD Let us Begin

Ink: Memento RIch Cocoa, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Vintage Photo

Accessories: Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 14, paper heart doily 4", cream cotton crochet lace from my stash, Prima Belle Artes Butterfly Rose, Prima leaves, Prima butterfly from the Farfalla Collection, red rhinestones from the $ bin at Michael's, ZVA Creative lime pearl flourish, hart pearl embellishment from my stash which I colored with a red Copic marker

So, what do you think?   I love how they both came out and I am sure that I will find some good use for both of them real soon.

Well, this is it for today, make sure you'll come back in the morning for a new Shining the Light Challenge over at ODBD, it is going to be a GOOD one ;D;D

Thanks for stopping by and I will see you all in the morning!!

Hugs,
