It is time again......

for Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge # 23. This week the Challenge Team has a good one for you.

The Challenge is to

use a ribbon and charm and one other embellishment- but no flower embellishments unless it is your charm.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize , a $ 15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, August 5. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday. While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them.

As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by August 5 at 8 p.m. EST.

If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC23. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.

My version of this weeks challenge is VERY CAS, yes, very Clean And Simple. You all know how much I love embellishments of any kind and for me the rule is usually "the more the better" ;D, so this weeks challenge was a challenge indeed for me,LOL!!

Are you ready?

Psalm 34:4

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream, Basic Grey Wisteria

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Series 1 Psalm 34:4

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Tea Dye

Accessories: Nesties Classic Cirlce Large, Classic Scalloped Circle Large, brown grosgrain ribbon 7/8" wide, antique brass cross charm I found while on vacation at Hobby Lobby for 50% off......SCORE!!!!
hand dyed Dew Drops

What do you think? I tell you, it was hard not putting any flowers on my card, but I am happy with the way it turned out. I think this card could easily pass as a masculine card or for someone that does not like a lot of embellishments ;D.

Would you like to see what the rest of the Challenge Team whipped up? Here are the links to my ever so talented sisters in Christ

It's a one, two, three Challenge

over at the Shabby Tea Room. Yep, one ribbon, two buttons and three punches or dies. I have not played in a while...you all know how it is to have kids out of school for the summer ;D. My girls started school back last week and I had some play time....YEAH!!!! So here is what I came up with

Grace and Peace........

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Basic Grey Cappella, Best Occasions Textured cs

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Series 1

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Antique Linen

Accessories: Nesties Labels 4, Petite Ovals Large, Petite Scalloped Ovals Large, 2 antique buttons, hand dyed seam binding, ZVA Creative Taupe Rhinestone Flourish Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, mini paper roses

So, what do you think?

I know the buttons I used are not traditional, but I assure you they are buttons and I did thread them on the seam binding through their shank on the back. To make them stay in place I added a little foam tape. ;D;D;D.

Well, this is it for today, short and sweet :D.

Thanks for stopping by my friends, it means a lot to me knowing that you come and visit me.

Have a fabulous and creative day!!

I am back.......

from my mini vacation and ready to show you what this weeks Shining the Light Challenge 22 is all about!!!

The team would like you to distress it. You can use ink, tearing, or ripping...whatever it takes to give a distressed look somewhere on your creation.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize , a $ 15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, July 29. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday. While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them.As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by July 29 at 8 p.m. EST

Now, are you ready to see what I came up with? For those of you that know me, I love distressing and do it ALL the time!!! :D:D:D

Trust in the Lord

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Kraft, Ripe Avocado, K&Company Life's Journey

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 2

Ink: ODBD Olive, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Antique Linen

Accessories: Nesties Labels 3+5, mini paper roses (not Prima) , Zva Creative pearl flourish in Taupe Antique brass heart button, hand dyed seam binding, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, foam tape

So, what do you think? I think I really like the way it turned out...the seam binding has a little shimmer to it (I've used Glimmer Mist) to dye it and it works so nicely. A little tip, I bought two kinds of seam binding...one is a no name and it sucks....really, when it gets wet it kind of separates and gets not so nice looking. I also used some Hug n' Snug and it works awesome!!!! I will not try to save $ 1.00and go with just Hug n' Snug now, LOL!!!! You can buy it directly at http://www.zipperstop.com/ or go on eBay and search Hug n' Snug seam binding. It is tons of fun (and a little messy) to get all the different colors dyed, but it is so gorgeous when you are done. I have used Glimmer Mist, re-inkers and black tea....awesome results with all three choices!!!

All right, would you like to get some more inspiration? My design sisters have outdone themselves once again....we even have a scrapbook layout...how awesome is that? So why don't you leave me some love ;D;D and head on over to

Well, this is it for me for today, I have survived the first week back to school and I think I am back to a little more normal schedule ;D.

Have a fabulous weekend full of blessings!!

Christmas in July

is the theme in this weeks Stamping in Time Challenge # 13 over at Our Daily Bread Designs!

The assignment is ODBD stamps. The challenge is Christmas in July!

It is time to start working on your Christmas cards and no better time than with a challenge. If you do not have any ODBD Christmas images, use what you have to make a Christmas inspired card or gift. We would love to see what you create!

I had to put my thinking hat on for a minute as I wanted to use an older ODBD stamp set....after all it is Stamping in Time, right? The purpose is to get those older sets out and ink them up and give them more attention ;D. For my card I chose a set from 2008 and it is called Joy to the World if you have this set you will agree with me that it is absolutely amazing!!!! The image is stunning and all of the sentiments and scriptures are perfect for any Christmas project.

Are you ready to see my very first Christmas card for this year?

Christmas Blessings

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Rustic Cream, Kraft, Memory Box Spiceberry

Stamps: ODBD Joy to the World

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Aged Mahogany, Tea Dye, Antique Linen, Old Paper

Accessories: burgundy satin ribbon, burgundy rhinestones, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, Nesties Petite Ovals Large, Cricut Expression and the Storybook cartridge to make the tag

As you can see this card is pretty simple and actually does not require extra postage ;D

So, what do you think? Did you get inspired to join us this week and make a Christmas in July card and share it with us over at the ODBD Blog via Mr. Linky? You will have a chance to win a $ 15.00 gift certificate which can be used towards a stamp purchase at the ODBD store . If you have not checked it out lately, there are a lots of Christmas stamps that Kelley has come up with ;D. To even get some more inspiration some of my other Design Team and Challenge Team sisters have joined Betty this week, so head on over to

Angie (Angella Crocket)

Fran (Fran Gumprecht)

and of course the ever so amazing Betty (Betty Wright)

Remember you have 2 weeks to master this challenge and I am so looking forward checking all of your creations out!!

It has been a while.......

since I have posted!!! I am sorry, but with my little one going to school in about 2 weeks I had to get her all taken care of as fare as shots are concerned. They told me she needed 2 and when we got to Immunization they told me we were not in the system (arrrgh)By the time we were finally seen they told me my baby needed 5 shots, but they only like to give 4 at the time. No fun!!!

We also had out eyes checked and Mama needs new glasses, plus hair appointment with my oldest. She had her hair braided. For all of you out there that have mixed children or are African American, you know what I am talking about ;D;D....that is not a 15-20 minute hair cut....hours of fussing and crying...you get the picture, but it is all good and my oldest looks so cute now, plus she had a birthday.

I am so glad it is all over though and I finally had some stamping time, YEAH!!!!

I made a very Vintage card

Do not be anxious

Recipe:
Paper: PTI Kraft, Rioe Avocado, K&Company Ancestry

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 4

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Tea Dye, Vintage Photo

Accessories: Wilton Paper Doily (sponged with THDI Tea Dye and Vintage Photo) Nesties Classic Circles Large, hand dyed seam binding, hand dyed Dew Drops, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool , Cameo, handmade stick pin with glass beads and antique brass pin and spacer beads

So, what do you think? That Cameo is from Dollar Tree, yep, it is supposed to be on a rubber band but when I saw it....I just knew I could use it on a card ;D!!!!

To get the plastic part part off of the back of the Cameo I simply ran the tip of my scissors under it and it popped right off...how easy is that? I think I need to go back and buy some more......plus the rubber band part is not wasted either, I use it on my kids,LOL!!

All right, I'll have to run my kids want some more attention.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Hugs and blessings,
