It is time for another.....

Shining the Light Challenge,YEAH!!! Are you ready?

This week the challenge team is challenging you to use stars and/or stripes on your creation. Since Memorial Day is coming up, we thought this may be fun. Please note that your card or project can be patriotic, but it does not have to be.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize , a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, June 3. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday. While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if yo u have them.As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by June 3 at 8 p.m. EST.If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC15. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.
All of these instructions are also available on the ODBD Blog

So, are you ready for my creations...yep, I made two as I could not decide what to do...I made one with stars and one with stripes.

Dad

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, SU Buckaroo Blue, SU So Safron, DP from stash, dark blue, burgundy and hunter green cs from my stash for the stars

Stamps: ODBD Dad

Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye, VersaFine OnyxBlack

Accessories: Nesties Large Deckled Rectangles, Stars cut with my Cricut Expression and the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool

To give the DP a little more interest I crumbled it up straightened it out and rubbed the TH Distressing Ink in Tea Dye over it. It was still too wrinkled so I ironed it from the back side just a little and achieved the look I was going for. The stars are cut with my Cricut Expression in 2 different sizes and distressed a little on the edges. The word dad is also stamped on a star cut just bog enough to fit the entire word (to be honest I first had it on a rectangle strip, but changed my mind as I went to use a star...I think it works better ;D. What do you think?

All right on to number 2...this one is a bit more feminine

Do not be anxious

Recipe:
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, SU Certainly Celery, rust colored cs from my stash and also from my stash this striped DP (I bought this years ago from Joann.com it was in one of those file folder kind of thingies with all kinds of different papers in it.

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Collection 4

Ink: Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Vintage Photo and Shabby Shutters

Accessories: Wrights Cluny lace, Prima Flowers, Martha Stewart Monarch butterfly punch, tiny buttons from Buttons Galore and more, Nesties Petite Scalloped Ovals Large, Petite Ovals Large, Zva Creative Topaz rhinestone flourish

So, what do you think about these 2 cards? Was I able to inspire you all a little? If you need some more inspiration check out my design sisters blogs and what they have come up with...breathtaking, let me tell you

Good morning....

my stamping friends I hope you are as happy as I am that it is Friday ;D. As I promised you yesterday I have another card to share with you all today...another sneak peek of what is to come on 1. June over at Our Daily Bread Designs . For today's sneak peek I chose this scripture

" The Lord bless you and keep you: The Lord make his face upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace" Numbers 6:24-26

I love this scripture and I had to pair it with the new Basic Grey Cappella paper, have a look and see for yourself...aren't they a perfect match?

The Lord bless you...

Recipe:
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, recycled moss colored cs, Basic Grey Cappella

Stamp: ODBD Scripture Series 1

Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen, VersaMagic Wheat, ODBD Olive

Accessories: Nesties Labels 6, cream crochet lace from May Arts, ivory trim from Tuesday Morning, Zva Creative taupe pearl flourish , antique brass cross charm, Prima Hydrangea;s from the Deep Woods Collection, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, half pearl brad from Michael's bridal section

I will see you tomorrow with another awesome Shining the Light Challenge, hope to see you then.

Have a blessed and creative day!!

Good Thursday morning......

my stamping friends. Today it is supposed to hit the 100's here in sunny Southern Arizona....goodness, this is going to be a hard day. Today is also my babies birthday. I can't believe that she will be 5 y.o. today...where has time gone. Anyhow..the cake is in the oven and I thought I'd share a sneak peek with you all that I made the other day. Next week on 1.June, Kelley over at Our Daily Bread Designs is releasing 4 brand new sets..they are all out of this world!! For my card today I chose this set called Scripture Series 1 and the brand new Fleur de Lis Borders. Those are the scriptures that stampers like you and I chose and were picked for this awesome stamp set and the Fleur de Lis Borders are perfect to frame those scriptures out!!

Have a look at number one of six cards that I will be showing you in the next couple of days ;D.

Psalm 34:4

Recipe:
Paper: PTI Rustic Cream, recycled moss green cs from Limelight, Basic Grey Cappella (LOVE this paper :D:D)

Stamps: ODBD Scripture Series 1, Fleur de Lis Borders

Ink: VersaMark, brown embossing powder, Memento Rich Cocoa, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo

Accessories: Nesties Labels 3, Maya Road Vintage Pearl Stick Pin, handmade flower made with my Cricut Expression and the Accent Essentials cartridge, paper crimper, Recollections half pearls, May Arts brown crochet lace, 3D foam dots, foam tape

Since I embossed the Fleur de Lis Border it kind of stands out a bit with it's shine and against this new awesome Basic Grey Cappella Paper....sigh..can you say gorgeous!!! I know you are probably getting tired of these paper flowers I am using, but they are so much fun to make. I even have my 8 y.o. help me...it is FUN!!!

So, what do you think? I love this scripture and I can't wait for you all to see the entire set,hehe...you'll love it!!!

Well, this is it for me for right now....I have a busy weekend ahead of me and it starts today, but I will be back tomorrow with another sneak peak ;D.

There are no direct links as of yet...those will go up for the release, so, please be patient my friends...thanks!!

Thanks for stopping by today, you all make my day by stopping by.

When I read about this challenge I knew right away which stamp set I was going to use. ;D Back for the Easter release, Kelley brought this wonderful stamp set to the table which is called "The Lord has Risen" . This awesome set has been getting lots of use from me. I love this scripture as it is just one more confirmation on what GOD is able to do. Just take a look around and admire all of the trees, the flowers, the sun and the sky...I don't know about you, but I think that this is just amazing!!! Thank you GOD for doing this and making this place a better and more beautiful place. I know without all of this beauty we would be living in a pretty boring place ;D. So with this said, I used the scripture and one of my handmade flowers, some gorgeous Basic Grey paper and that is basically it.....this card was born, LOL!

Have a look

For my sample today I chose to make a masculine card. My pastor's son is graduating from High School and I have known him for 10 years...oh my goodness...thinking back when I first met Jonathan he was 8, the same age as my oldest daughter Naomi. He is such a talented and well mannered young man. He plays the drums at church and is always helping everybody. We plan on attending his graduation which takes place at his schools stadium. Well, got kind of side tracked here, telling all of this ;D, sorry, but I was thinking of him right away when Chris gave us this challenge :D. So, with no further delay here is my take on this weeks challenge

I know the plans I have for you.......

Recipe:
Paper:PTi Rustic Cream, K&Company Designer Mat Pad Earthtones solid

Stamps: ODBD For the Graduate

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMagic Chalk Ink Sage

Accessories: silver hardware buckle , silver med. brads, Nesties Classic Rectangles Large, Cuttlebug embossing folder Diamond Plate, black satin ribbon

What do you think? If I put a Visa gift card in it I am sure this 18 y.o. will
flip out ;D.
I hope that this masculine card is stirring the creative juices in you and if you need some more inspiration the rest of the challenge team has some awesome samples as well.

Hello on this beautiful....

Friday my stamping friends!!! It is 8:30am here in AZ and I have to get a rush on this post as my oldest only has half day of school today. Can you all believe that school is just about over? Only 2 1/2 weeks left for us, but the good thing is that my kids, yes, I've said kids, my little one will be going to Kindergarten, YEAH :D. Even though it is only half day (they've cut all day Kindergarten here in AZ and let me tell ya, how can kids learn something in 3 hours if they have 2 recesses? Anyhow...we are in a 'Year round' school district and my kiddos will go back on 19. July......I love it!!!

So since I've got that out of my system ;D I have 2 cards to share with you all today!!! A very Vintage card...you all know I love Vintage ;D...and one that I made using some of my Copics. I can't color to save my life, but I gave those Copics another try and I must say it was fun, hehe.

Let me show you first the Vintage one

God did not give us........

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, Basic Grey Nook & Pantry
yellow textured cs from my stash (has a feel of handmade paper)

Here you go the close up

What do you think? Aren't those flowers just awesome? Love it!!

All right, on to the second card I have for you. This one is the one I colored with my Copics. I don't have very many (yet ;D) and so shading was a challenge. I will also submit this card for the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts Magazine where Angie Crockett challenge to make a Graduation card. I thought since Psalm 139:10 says "Your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me" it is pretty fitting. We want those young people to know that GOD will guide them, right? This is my CPCMBVT53 submission card.

Your hand will guide me......

It's been a while......

my stamping friends!!! First of all I would like to apologize for being MIA. I am having serious computer issues and had to finally give in and have the Geek Squad have a look. I have not heard back, but I am prayerful that it is not a major issue that will require a new laptop. If some things don't appear as they usually are I am sorry as I am using my DD's computer and it is naked, yep as naked as naked can get if you are talking about a computer, so please don't give up on me. ;D.

I do have a card to share with you all today as well. I made it with some of those very addicting flowers I've cut out with my Cricut Expression.

Have a look at

I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer....

Recipe:
Paper: PTI White, vellum

Stamp: ODBD Scripture Collection 3

Ink: Chalk Box Chestnut Roan, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Tea Dye

Accessories:
Nesties Labels 5, butterfly die cut,
Cricut Expression and my Accent Essentials cartridge to make the flowers, Zva Creative flourish, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, Sizzix embossing folder Damask, foam tape, half pearls (for flower center on the two smaller flowers)

So, what do you think? Don't those flowers just look awesome and they are so easy, my 8 y.o. makes them with me ;D.

Well, gotta run for now, but want to say "Thank You" for not giving up on me. I had to realize that a computer is a machine after all and they break, so what good is going to do me if I stay upset over it...NONE...right, so I will keep on making my cards!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will be back on Thursday when I have another little something something for you!!

Have a fabulous day and be creative.

Hugs and blessings,
