A very bright CAS.......

Hi and happy Monday my friends. I know I have a very strange name for my post today, but I just did not know what else to call it, but what it is ;D. I bought this fun little bird stamp quite some time ago and only have used it once, so I've decided to ink it up. Since I had lots of fun the other day using my chalks with the blender pen I did just that, used those chalks again :D:D.

The image was stamped in VersaFine Black Onyx on watercolor paper (actually they are ATC sized sheets I bought pre-cut and they are just the right size). As this bird came out kind of bright I went with all bright colors for the layers of the card and used some textured cs from a DVWV pad. My card base is PTI white and as the title already says pretty CAS (Clean And Simple). I know I very rarely do that, so I was done in like 10 minutes ;D. To give this CAS card just a little pep, I added some pink and white striped grosgrain ribbon and a small flower charm. TaDa all done!

See for yourself

Recipe:
Paper: PTI white, DCWV textured paper pad

Stamp: little bird with flower

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black,

Accessories: pink/white striped grosgrain ribbon, silver flower charm from Mike's Wedding section
Pearlescent Chalks, Blender Pen, foam tape

Did you all have to go and get your sunglasses? I know this card is so outside of my usual style, but it was kind of fun.

This it it for me.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Hugs,

Sabrina ~ CAS is just what this is!!! I think it is one of my favorite cards! I worked on a card yesterday and after looking at it, I pulled off half of the embellishments because it wasn't clean and simple...now it looks clean and simple. Love the bird!!!

Wow Sabrina - you are good at everythng you do - love your CAS card, it is so different for you - but different is good - it takes us out of our 'comfort zone' and that is where we learn! Your CAS card rocks my friend! Thank you for sharing!! God bless you! {{{hugs}}}

HI Sabrina!!! I love your birdie and the colors. So cheerful!! You did an awesome job with CAS!

Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog. If I am watercoloring my face or skin, I use blush blossom from SU. I outline the sides and move into the center leaving some white. Then I use Tim Holtz distressing Tea dye ink to make it slightly darker on the edges. I use pretty in pink or very light Worn Lipstick (Tim HOlTZ) for the cheeks. For copics, use any of the flesh tones, for shading use two or three different tones from the same color range. For Prisma color pencils, outline on the side with one of the flesh colored pencils and blend it in with gamsol toward the center leaving it lighter with some white in the middle. I sure hope it helps. My dt sister Jacquis has an excellent tutorial on distress inks and using them on faces on her blog.
You can go here to see it. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the compliments.
I really think you are an awesome card maker and crafter yourself.
blessings,
Chris
