Happy Thursday.....

my stamping friends!!!! Thank You to all of you who stopped by during ISC's Christmas Card Extravaganza/Blog Hop, we all had tons of fun. The winner of the 3 free sets will be announced by Betsy herself on the ISC Blog, so keep your eyes open, you might be the one ;D.

Today Connie, Joanne and I have a little something for you all as well. We were asked by Betsy if we would play with some cool embellishments that are available from Maya Road. I tell you, when I saw the stick pins I was sold,LOL!!!!

Many of you know that I am an embellishment nut and hoard like a champ if you'd ask my husband.

But back to what I have for you all today.

Betsy, the wonderful owner of ISC has put together a special Maya Road Kit that will be availabe for only a limited time at a very special price.

Most of you probably know that Maya Road is a company with a unique array of surfaces for altering and we gave some of them a try.

It's a card, it's a magnet, it's a cool gift idea for a friend.

This is a mini card I made incorporating a small 1.25" fragment from Tim Holtz which I altered by applying some Alcohol Inks to the back of it then stamping a small tree image from one of the new releases for October called Country Views which I stamped on the front of the fragment with black StazOn ink. After that I applied a generous amount of Crystal Effects to on top of the stamped image let it dry. To finish the back side up I also applied a very thin layer of Crystal Effects to assure that the Alcohol inks would not be removed (I know if they are dry they are not supposed to be going anywhere ;D) but I wanted to be sure. After this layer was dry I adhered a small piece of cs to cover the back, sponged it to make it blend in a little and adhered a square magnet I had laying around. I think it was harder to take a picture of this magnet than making it :D:D. It truly look stunning IRL!!!.

For my mini card I used a base of PTI Dark Chocolate and cut it to 3"x3". To make it a little more interesting I cut also a piece of PTO Kraft cs 3"x3" and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Forest Branches embossing folder. To make it look a little more nature like I used some Twine instead of ribbon and wrapped it around the cuttlebugged layer. The layer after it is cut with the Nesties Labels 1 die out of Kraft cs and sponged on the edges with Chalk Box ink in Chestnut Roan and SU Creamy Caramel. For the sentiment 'thinking of you today" I cut a label with SU's oval punch the stamp is from another ISC set called "Dainty Daisies" which I added some Recollections mini antique copper brads to. Before I adhered this last layer unto the card I added a negative magnet to the back so my focal point, the magnet, I made from the fragment would stay on the card. I also decorated one of the Kraft Maya Road envelopes which you will receive in this wonderful Maya Road Kit if you decide to buy it ;D. The envelope was sponged with the same inks as the card and I added two Nesties Labels 1 cut outs in Dark Chocolate and Kraft. The sentiment is from the ISC set "Birch Tree Paintings" and that is it. A nice little gift idea.

My second project is a Christmas card where I used one of the birds that is available in the Kit as well. To get the look of this bird as it is in the card I simply inked it all up with VersaMark ink and added red embossing powder. You will have to emboss more than ones to get a real good coverage, but that is real easy to do if you keep adding embossing powder while it is still hot.

Joy, Love, Faith

Recipe:

Paper: PTI Kraft, SU Red Riding Hood red

Stamps: Festive Season

Inks: VersaMark, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Fired Brick

Accessories: red embossing powder, golden detail embossing powder, Recollections golden half pearls, golden ribbon from my stash, Cuttlebug embossing folder Victoria, foam tape, Nesties petite ovals large

Viola, a very different Christmas card :D.

Wait, one more, I have one more card, and yes you've guessed it, it is another Christmas card,LOL!

I think this is my favorite one so far, but that is because it was so very easy to make.

Elegant "Merry Christmas"

Recipe:
Paper: PTI White, silver paper (bought at Target last year at Christmas time)

Stamps: Festive Season

Ink: VersaMark

Accessories: silver filigree embossing powder from PTI, Cuttlebug embossing folder Lace Tree, clear crystals, white satin ribbon and a Maya Road stick pin

I love these pins. For my card I had to cut a down a bit, as I used it so far down on the card I simply snipped some of the pin off with some floral wire cutters I have.

You will be getting a nice variety of items for only $ 6.50. That is one good deal!!! To see what Joanne and Connie came up with, simply click on their names and it will take you to their wonderful creations.
